The Frontier Chicken became too dry halfway through the meal. Nobody bothered to check that the fixins’ needed replenishment.
The Patthar Ka Gosht was delightful owing to careful trimming of the meat and patient grilling (well done for South Asian palates and no trace of medium rare in any of the slices).
The Goat Biryani was flavorful but it did not manifest the “dum” signature. No complaints because it is tough to serve it consistently throughout the day in batches. The “dum” is lost and so is the art of plating it. Let’s hope that the restaurant gets chances to serve it the traditional way at large festive occasions. Will you hold your “dum” for that opportunity?
I ordered the Family Pack Biryani (Chicken), which is Hyderabadi style, and the taste was almost perfect. It was not as oily as my prior favorite, but it was good to be less oily. For the family pack, they topped it with some Chicken 65. All the chicken was super fresh, soft, and moist. The food came out in maybe 5 minutes.
They gave us our own pitcher of water which was nice, and use nice glasses. They set the plates, utensils, and napkins on the table for us to distribute among ourselves, rather than set them for us, but that was ok, as it is a casual restaurant. The tip calculator is as a percent of the aftertax total, which I don’t like, but hopefully they will change this soon to be on the pre-tax amount.
An upscale environment with great food at reasonable prices.
To begin with, the Chicken 65 was nothing like it’s supposed to be. It was essentially overcooked chicken thigh cubes with a rubbery texture, drowned in spicy tomato ketchup to mask the poor quality, and oddly topped with jalapeños. Authentic Chicken 65 is tossed with a proper tempering of curry leaves, garlic, and green chillies. That tempering was completely missing and instead seemed to be replaced with tomato ketchup. That our server confirmed was a secret mix of sauces.
Next was the biryani, which was equally disappointing. There was no aakhni, no saffron, and no ghee. It was just yellow and white rice mixed with meat. The biryani was dry, served cold, and tasted like it was made with dalda rather than ghee. There was excessive food colouring, most of the rice was yellow and it honestly felt more like eating yellow rice with bland meat than biryani. There was barely any masala, and even the meat lacked flavor due to the absence of proper aakhni.
We asked the server if we could get more of the aakhni portion, and when it was added, it became clear that even the aakhni itself was bland and tasteless. For me, biryani should first look right, then smell right, and finally taste right. Unfortunately, this biryani failed on all three fronts.
At the end, we didn’t finish all of the food. I was extremely hungry and managed to finish my plate, but the friend I visited the restaurant with couldn’t finish his. We were offered chai on the house, but we were too disappointed to spend any more time at the restaurant.
In terms of service, we were not offered water and only received it after getting the attention of a server. The venue also appeared understaffed, which affected how well guests were attended to.
We visited this place on Friday, December 26, 2025. Around 3:30–4:00 p.m., we expected freshly prepared biryani handi/degh, but that was not the case.
The biryani was absolutely amazing — rich in flavor, aromatic, served with perfectly cooked meat.
Chicken korma was smooth, creamy, it felt like i am eating in hyderabad.
The Apollo fish stole the show, very tender, bursting with flavor.
The meat platter offered great variety, every piece was juicy, well-marinated, and perfectly grilled.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience, with beautiful ambience, highly recommended for anyone who loves bold, authentic hyderabadi food.
Look at my 6 year old spitting this out because it’s not The Hyderabadi taste he is used to…why do you have to trust me? He is autistic and loves hyderabadi biryani…home made or hotel if its hyderabadi taste he eats it..looks like they hired a chef from Andhra!!
The owners Osman and Ibrahim are always very hospitable & make sure you leave happy.
