A neighborhood bar-Seymour’s is creation of Tara Lazar (Cheeky’s, Birba and Mr. Lyons) and business Partner/Cocktail Engineer Steen Bojsen-Moller. Named after Lazar’s father, Seymour’s is a classic bar for drinkers. It transports you with its lush interiors, moody lighting and a sneaky unmarked side entrance-making it feel like a Palm springs institution that has been there for generations. Where past meets present; featuring key design elements salvaged from the original 1938 restaurant seamlessly merged with the modern and eclectic.
This intimate bar with a vintage vibe is hidden behind Mr. Lyons & specializes in craft libations.

They have an excellent selection of spirits, cocktails. Maybe a little varied, but decently creative. The only thing that gets me is pricing. Sure you pay for everything for decor, glassware and not just spritis, but I recall wondering how they price their drinks becuase not everything is equal or standard mark up when some things aren’t house made it’s easy to cost out becuase you stop paying for creativity after a certain point. It feels like they took alot of Mr. Lyons business model and use that for pricing rather than a sole entity with their own margins.
The service makes up for it, the ambiance makes up for it. The crowd makes up for it. Far less wrinkled and aging snowbirds and retirees circling the drain in their waning days. People dressing up and celebrating, genuine convivialness abounds with most guests. It’s not somewhere else trying bring that vibe here, it’s pretty authentic.
It’s separate from nextdoor other than shared bathrooms, so don’t be surprised when you feel like your in a different world. Most people who wander between the 2 take pause and awe for a few seconds before their mood shifts to match the room. Not a place to get sloppy and party that way unless it’s a closed event.
It’s a great, classic PS lounge for when you have 2 groups of friends who you can entertain, the steakhouse crowd for dinner and the loungers beforehand. Sunsets on the patio under the string lights and couches is rich backyard summertime vibez.
I don’t understand how a bartender with the demeanor of the woman who served us could be working in a public-facing position such as a bartender, let alone being the person scheduled on New Year’s Eve of all nights. Guess it makes sense why we noticed all the surrounding seats in the space were occupied, but every seat in her section at the bar was empty. Had this been my first time visiting and we had this experience, we would not be returning.
PROS: The food and drinks were above my expectations and the team did a great job with keeping everyone fed and with drinks in hand. Erica the bartender was fantastic and really enjoyed her espresso martinis. Also Roston the Manager was beyond accommodating and helped with every ask along the way. Our guests raved about the venue and their overall experience. The campfire was cozy and the indoor area was comfortable for our group of 45 guests.
CONS: I worked with Brittany and Casey from F10 (their Catering Company) and both were easy to work with and informative. On the day of the event, my husband and I dropped off a few small decor items (flowers, vases, guest book items, etc.). We spoke with the Manager, Amanda, to see if we could set-up early ahead of the event since we did not have any local family or friends to help. She asked for us to leave our belongings and she would set everything up (a great relief being a busy bride on the day before the wedding). However, when I arrived with my guests for the event the room was closed and nothing had been set-up. All the decor was still packaged on top of the bar. We had 40+ guests waiting at the front desk, and I was frantic to set-up everything prior to arrival. The guest book table was not set-up either. In addition, I had communicated multiple times that we had a playlist and confirmed we could play our own music during the event. Setting up took about 10-15 minutes out of our event time which we spent $7K on and we really would have appreciated the event being set-up as promised by Amanda ahead of the event.
When we arrived, another Manager said we needed to send in the playlist. Being a painfully type A bride, I knew this was never communicated and had even checked my prior emails but it was never mentioned. Would have sent the playlist or booked a DJ had we known they wouldn’t be able to play our music the night of. Overall Brittany and Casey with F10 were very kind and helpful, the staff was excellent, but the communication between F10 and management needs improvement.
When I entered, the bartender informed me that you were “closed” due to it being slow and understaffed, and that I would not be served. However, multiple patrons entered immediately after me and were served without issue.
I am a Middle Eastern woman, live right down the street, and have been a regular patron for a long time. Given the sequence of events, I feel strongly that I was singled out and treated differently based on my identity, which raises serious concerns about discriminatory conduct.
This is not acceptable.
If contacted, I am willing to identify the bartender involved (a bearded male) and provide further details. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately
