We just enjoyed a delicious cheesesteak to go from this corner eatery. The fresh bread contained a very generous amount of juicy beef with a tasty sauce. Top off your meal with a slice of their awesome chocolate cake. To die for. Very friendly folks that we enjoyed talking to while our food was prepared.

Sewards Steak shop has been open for nearly 70 years and for good reason. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The portion sizes are incredible and the side dishes are fantastic. The Cheesesteaks are by far the best in the area . SMP Deli (8.5/10) and Zandys (9/10) are good but they just can’t compare to Sewards. Robust yet delicate hoagie rolls packed with tender steak, delicious onions, and fresh vegetables bursting with flavor . This is the only cheesesteak place for me !

I went there once with my dad who was a regular there. I was treated with great respect. I love the food . The next two times I went I walked out without food. I walked in the first time and even though I was there before people behind me they were regulars. They had their food and I still wasn’t even greeted. The next time I sat at the bar the person waited about every table and never came over to me. Each time I was there over 20 minutes without anybody greeting me but people who walked in behind me that they knew by name were waited on immediately. If Don’t treat new people good than you won’t have any new regulars. I can assure you I will not be one

This restaurant is located in an old neighborhood where the locals seem to frequent. We were traveling from Massachusetts to Louisiana when my wife said she wanted a cheesesteak sandwich when we entered Pennsylvania. She looked on line and found two locations. We chose the older of the two establishments.
My wife and I both ordered the cheesesteak with Cooper cheese. She add crinkle cut fries and I added a side of pierogies. The meat was delicious and plentiful. The cheese was melted on top with a marinara sauce poured on top of that. I had the peppers with the pickles on the side while my wife no peppers. The soft bun was simply amazing.
As we sat at the counter watching the sandwich artist at work, I was impressed with the care and detail that went into everything that was made there. It reminded me of me making sandwiches at home, truly impressive to watch.
We definitely left with our bellies full, a box with leftovers for later, feeling like we hit the food jackpot. It’s not a fancy place, there’s not a lot of service, but find better quality and taste will be hard to do.
We also enjoyed seeing all of the local stopping by for dinner.

I have been driving past here for so long and always wanted to try it… to be honest alittle disappointed in my first experience.. tried to order cheesesteak and they were out of steak meat, no bacon for the cheese fries, out of curly fries. Finally was able to order a chicken cheesesteak, plain fries and onion rings. Overall the food was good. The rolls are really thick/ doughy but there is a lot of meat which was good. Sides were good too but not super crisp. Workers weren’t overly friendly. When we walked in they seemed relieved when we were picking up an order rather than eating in… there was about an hour left before closing. And it took two people to ring us up because they didn’t know what we ordered or the prices… they had too look at the menu and ask each other.. seemed like they were just picking random prices.

Mike and employees are the best in the valley. Steaks are delicious and sizely. Hidden jem. Consistently great experiences.

So this almost never happens!!!
The food was even better once it was leftovers and re warmed in the microwave! The steak tasted seasoned and the cheese was gooey. The small order of old bay fries were so big
..i would hate to see a large. The atmosphere was like a local authentic steak shop. The employees were warm and friendly!!

Who says Philly is the only place for an excellent cheesesteak?
This cozy little spot is serving up some delicious cheesesteaks in some inventive flavors! I enjoyed a pizza cheesesteak with mozzarella cheese, marinara, and pepperonis, and it was so good. The pepperoni added a nice flavor that complimented the steak well, and overall it wasn’t salty or grassy.
If you’re in Allentown, this spot is definitely a go to, and one I’ll be heading back to next time I go visit family.

Driving from Hershey back to CT, I wanted to stop and try a proper cheesesteak and with Allentown being the main large place in the state I passed throughout, I picked the first place I saw on google maps.
It came across as a discreet local spot that has been around for years. The decor was rustic, the menu simple, it was perfect.
The food was fantastic, so good. Some things weren’t available as they hadn’t been delivered which was a major plus to me as they clearly use fresh ingredients.
Reasonably priced, and very happy to have had my authentic cheesesteak experience in PA.
