Seven Cocktails + Bourbon is a cool newer spot worth checking out. The drinks are that classy/refined style but taste great too; it’s not just for a quick instagram picture but for actually enjoying. Service was solid too; our server was personable and made the experience enjoyable. We had already eaten somewhere else but the menu looked amazing and the food that went past us to other tables looked just as good as described. We did end up grabbing a cheesecake slice though and if everything tastes that good definitely grab food here.
Not directly tied to this place, but the whole NuLu area after the traffic upgrade has been a huge improvement and made the biking/walkability of the area so much better. Makes it a great evening to hope around places at.

Trendy whiskey/ cocktail bar with a very nice selection. Was able to find pours I’ve never tried before or are not in my collection. Based off what the bartenders were doing, it seems more people come here for cocktails than whiskey.
Bartenders started cleaning up more than an hour before closing so we sat with an empty glasses a couple times. Definitely could have been more attentive.

We are in town for our anniversary and came across Seven. We were looking for a place to grab a cocktail before dinner and this fit the bill. The welcome was warm, to bourbon and old fashion were top notch, so much so, that we returned after our disastrous attempt at dinner elsewhere, to improve our night. Great atmosphere, excellent bourbon and staff is top notch. Highly recommend!

I will always support a bar with friendly bar tenders and clarified milk drinks on their menu. I stopped by and had the Biscoff My Lawn clarified milk drink and it was a divine dessert. Definitely worth visiting not just for the cocktails, but the relaxed upscale environment with mix drinks at a reasonable price. Huge selection of bourbons and some very tempting flights.

Seven Bar was such a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is fun, elevated, and perfect for a night out. Kirsten was absolutely amazing!! Her drink recommendations were on point and she genuinely made our whole evening. You can tell she really knows her craft and cares about the experience she gives to guests. We had SO MUCH FUN!! The energy, the service, and the vibe were all spot on. We had an epic night and will 100% be back!!

Over a year ago, I wrote a pretty positive review. Raved about this place to friends and acquaintances. Recently, I quietly deleted it and planned not to say any more. However, the gentleman below (sort by recent) who posted his experience changed my mind because I can relate. I was a customer for roughly a year and a half. I gave way more than three chances. For a few reasons. The atmosphere leans upscale, it feels safe for adults. Then a couple of employees, specifically Lauren and the sweet girl who is the hostess, go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. I never waited for a seat. Unfortunately, the same does not apply to most of the bartenders. Often you are ignored regardless of customer volume. You might wait ten minutes or more. Some of the male bartenders exude attitude unless you are female too. Almost like you’re unwelcome competition or something. It’s a weird vibe. Especially considering every visit I tipped 20-30%. No small feat considering how expensive it is here.
Which is my next point. Most drinks average $15-18. The last visit, two alcoholic drinks, two non-alcoholic drinks, my bill was $63 with tip. Add $20 for a round trip Uber, it’s understandable why fewer and fewer people go out these days. One night a couple next to me had a $150 tab. Most of the customers are bourbon tourists, so if that tells you anything. Not my crowd, but to each their own.
Seven seems to be great for large groups or tourists. I really liked it in the beginning, but then management and employees changed over time. Ultimately, it didn’t work for me. Maybe it will for you…at least once.

On Thanksgiving Eve, whilst Kentucky’s cold made open warfare upon our extremities, we sought refuge as any sensible souls might: indoors, and with liquor. Thus we found ourselves inside Seven, a name suggesting either fortune or biblical warning, both appropriate.
Our stay was mercifully brief, amounting to but a single round of cocktails, for the night pressed onward and duty loomed.
My Lady, ever inclined toward vigilance, declared her desire for an espresso, no doubt to keep her wits sharp against the encroaching evening. I, on the other hand, called for an Old Fashioned, believing it my duty to honor tradition, if not my liver.
The atmosphere possessed a certain cultivated gloom, the sort that encourages deep thoughts one immediately forgets upon finishing one’s drink. The variety of cocktails was commendable, each presented with enough ceremony to suggest the bartender believed strongly in destiny.

Tyler and ryan served my friend and I at Seven bar tonight. Both of them are so nice and helpful, and very informative of the cocktail menu. We were happy to try the pear of twos, the three sheets, and the five star taco truck. My favorite drinks were the pair of twos and three sheets! Both were flavorful and light – the pear of twos was sweeter than the other, and had ice – I really enjoyed these cocktails and our service tonight! I would gladly come back to this establishment to try more of their delicious drinks!
I came back & tried the espresso martini + the pickle martini…. I LOVED the espresso, not so much the pickle. I was hoping for more of a pickle juice taste but it was quite strong / pithy. It looked pretty but did not taste great lol.

Great cocktail bar! We had our book club here and they were so kind and accommodating. The drinks were incredible and Matt and Lauren were wonderful bartenders/servers. I will definitely be back!

This place is great, seems like some reviews listed aren’t used to this fast paced, upscale cocktail lounge, style of service in Louisville. It’s unique to the city. Staff is all professional craft bartenders- friendly and always helpful.
