The food was good but nothing extraordinary. I had the gnocchi while my colleagues had a pizza and the other another pasta dish. The food arrived quickly so there was little wait.
I also tried dessert. I enjoyed the chocolate cake and ice cream more than my main course.
Overall I’d recommend this spot of you happen to be in the neighborhood but wouldn’t make a special trip to come here again.
1. When arriving from the library side, there is no host stand, no greeter, and no clear directive on where to enter or if you should wait to be seated. You enter into the courtyard and the back side of the restaurant is tight with tables that are not openly clear that you’d enter to find a host. My husband and I wandered awkwardly until the owner waved and pointed toward the seating area, saying that he’d get menus, which we assumed means to find ourselves a seat. Then a host chased after us and scolded us for walking around. Very unprofessional. A sign at the side of the library with “please wait to be seated” would solve all problems.
2. I got the eggs Benedict which were FANTASTIC. However, the fries were overcooked and were crunchy like potato chips. Must have been double fried.
3. We had to ask two different waiters for drink refills, and my husband asked for light ice. A third person brought drinks full to the brim with ice. Attention to detail is lacking. We had to ask twice for the check because they forgot or perhaps didn’t understand.
4. On the receipt, I noticed a 3% surcharge and when I asked the server, he said it was to pay a living wage. Truly, this is getting to be enough. Just raise the price of each plate/item by 3%. This is deceptive marketing.
Overall, the restaurant was nice, the outdoor area was pretty, the food okay but not consistent, and the vibe was off. The servers were nice enough, but it felt like we had to stay really on top of them. The small pieces of customer service need to be ironed out or this place will close like all the others. After all, in America, the customer experience is everything. I hope they work on it and really focus on logistics and customer service because this place has a ton of potential.
Spicy Margarita is incredible Highly recommend
Visited by two occasions and when we just came for drinks another day we asked for table water which was free but the waiter brought us Evian water from the menu which obviously cost us 8$
There was a party with live music going on, which made it a bit hard to talk, but the vibe was great.
The prices are very reasonable, so I’d definitely recommend this place!
The interior has a full size bar and wine, sell us around the bar. The kitchen can be viewed through the glass windows.
The prices are moderate. The restaurant menu is a fixed price menu and options that are selected from the various sections of the menu. There’s an extra charge for dessert. There’s a charge for a bottle of water that is still or sparkling.
The dessert serve a very good. The appetizers were very good. The pizzas were good and the pasta was fair.
The meals are served to order so plan on spending an extended amount of time during your visit.
We’ve tried few of their drinks and their 700 Mule is flavorful; however, it is slightly sweeter than a usual mule.
We tried their group dinning menu. However, it was weird to list an item, and not have it, as an option. Overall, food is okay at best.
Really came expecting to be wowed, and the food did not disappoint, everything we ate was phenomenal. The service, however, was subpar and not at all what we would expect from an establishment of this nature.
Server continuously gave attention to all the larger parties around us and neglected to assist us.
We ran out of water for a lengthy period of time, even when they had carafes for the table. We had to get up to get our own silverware, twice. After watching the server small talk with all the other tables around us, I decided maybe putting my card on the table would catch his attention to see we were ready for the check. As he got closer to our table, he proceeded to turn his back towards us, conversing with the table next to us, and then walking away for a 3rd time without acknowledging us. My wife was shocked and at that point I was fed up. We will return, just because the food was unforgettable, but hopefully the service redeems itself next time.
Note: The hostess and manager on duty were wonderful.
