Reviews
This is a typical pizza place that looks clean and organized. The food display at the counter was appealing, but unfortunately, the food quality was quite poor.
Atmosphere 5.1/10
The interior is small but neatly presented. It’s clean, though the space doesn’t have any distinctive features.
Service 5.1/10
The service was okay, with staff keeping the area tidy and presenting the food well.
Cheese Pizza 3.3/10
Advertised as NY-style, but it doesn’t live up to that claim. The crust was too hard, almost like cardboard, and there was more dough than sauce and cheese, which upset the flavor balance.
Philly Cheesesteak 1.2/10
Very disappointing due to the lack of meat and the use of a bulky, dry roll. Even adjusting the meat to one side of the bread didn’t help much. Better bread or toasting could improve it.
Chicken Wings 4.1/10
The flavor was okay, but the wings seemed to have been pre-boiled, which made them soft and chewy instead of crispy.
Value 3.0/10
Given the low food quality, the prices felt too high, making it difficult to see good value in the meal.
incredibly disappointing. I ordered a large everything pizza and specifically asked that the crust not be burned and for the toppings to be fully cooked. When I got home, I discovered the opposite as the crust and toppings were both undercooked. In fact, the pizza was cold.
I called and spoke with Isaac, who seemed unsure about how to resolve the issue. I offered to bring the pizza back and suggested they remake it. This meant waiting for 30 minutes for the pie to be remade and enduring Louisburg rush hour traffic. Instead of owning the mistake, Isaac told me that because I had taken a bite, I’d have to pay for a second pizza.
Alternatively, he said I could come back the next day at 11:00 AM to speak with the owner, something I don’t feel a loyal customer should have to do. I gave him my contact information for the owner to call me at his convenience. After some back and forth, Isaac contacted the owner, who chose not to call his customer, but relayed through his employee that “this time” I could bring it back and they would remake it. That phrasing made it feel like they were doing me a favor rather than making good on a subpar product.
I’m not sure what Sergio’s means when they advertise “True New York Style,” but I assumed
that referred to the quality of their pies, not the attitude. Today’s experience fell far short of both.
I’m not sure if there’s been a change in staff or recipes, but something is clearly not working. The spaghetti was extremely dry—my wife couldn’t even finish her dish. The garlic knots had no garlic on them at all. The pizza itself was undercooked to the point where I had to put it back in the oven when I got home. To make matters worse, when my son took a bite of his slice, all of the cheese slid right off.
This was a really disappointing visit after being a repeat customer, and bad enough that I won’t be eating there again.
