I ordered several dishes from Serengeti Kitchen for Thanksgiving and everything was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and everyone we hosted was genuinely impressed.

The samosas were generously filled, flavorful, and a huge hit. The chapatis were soft and pillowy, just perfect. The pilau rice was fluffy and delicious, and the mandazis were sweet, fresh, and beautifully made.

We’ll definitely be ordering from them again — highly recommended!

I orders the Beef Samosas and Chips Masala. Both were delicious. Would highly recommend. Try the Rozela Hibiscus drink and Tamarind Cardamom.

Chef Ammalu was fantastic in helping me plan a tasting menu that would go along with my preschool class’ Uganda/East Africa theme. Today, I brought in four and five year olds and she made them feel at home. She shared some of her story with the children and helped them feel connected to the food, which was above and beyond. And then the food – y’all, it’s so good! We had two chaperones order more food to take home. And every single child found at least one thing on their tasting plate that they liked. For me, it was the beef samosas and the coconut rice cakes (and everything else). Go and try her food, it’s amazing!

WOW!!! This was our first experience trying Tanzanian food. We were excited to try and the very nice young man gave us his recommendation and we tried it. Swahili Chicken Biryani and Samosas were perfection. The flavors were absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to bring my friends and family to try this.

I absolutely tore this up , the seasoning was absolute insane. I got the vegan plate and I shoveled this in my mouth in about 5 minutes , no breathers I think. I am usually not a greens girl but as you can see the plate is CLEAN. Plantains 10/10, Rice + pintos 10/10, cabbage + greens 10/10, no notes

I loved it, plain & simple. Saw this place being reviewed on TikTok, and I wanted to try.. I was not disappointed in doing so. The food was seasoned well, with a pretty large portion (see pics below .) Also for myself the sanitation score is important. They have a A.

This was the best food I had in awhile and probably the best vendor at 7th street market. My family was hesitant but once they saw my lamb plate they went and got food from Serengeti Kitchen too! A must try.

This was INCREDIBLE. I had the Swahili Plate with grilled chicken and got a Tamarind Cardamom juice with it and it was positively amazing. They’re also trying out a new yogurt sauce that goes with the chicken and it’s SO GOOD. I stumbled on this place while looking for somewhere to eat before I set out on the road and I’m so glad I did. There’s an alternate version of me in some twisted parallel universe who didn’t go into 7th Street Market to find this place and instead opted for fast food. I weep for her. This is one of the top ten best meals I’ve eaten ever.
