The menu clearly indicates which foods can be made vegetarian and which are spicy. The banchan included some of my favorites. Kimchi pancake was perfect and so reasonably priced. The hot stone bibimbap was wonderful and crisped the rice to chewy, crunchy perfection. I asked for mine to be vegetarian and that was no problem.
I look forward to returning in my next trip to the area.
For those who appreciate, fresh ingredients, a true finesse for the culinary art, and a more refined dining experience, Seoul Garden may not be for you. I would fairly liken it to a Korean fast-food establishment.
The courses were not presented sequentially, as everything was served simultaneously. The swiftness of the service and the quality of the food implied that it had been prepared in advance. The beef dumplings were unfortunately dry and overcooked. These dumplings had been setting around awhile. The Bulgogi Barbeque Beef, served with onions and mushrooms, was also overcooked. The beef was dried out, had no flavor and no sauce. The onions were burned and the mushrooms weren’t fresh.
It seemed that there were two individuals managing the front of the house and, perhaps, only one cook; a line cook, at best.
Attentive service was not a feature. Once the server dropped the food (and check), you never heard of or saw her again. The noise level was comparable to that of a typical fast-food restaurant.
Spending $63 for two at a fast food level eatery was a disappointment. Save your money and skip this one.
The restaurant itself is clean, simple, and welcoming. It’s not flashy, but it has a peaceful, calm vibe that makes it perfect for a quiet lunch or dinner. It’s the kind of place where you feel relaxed as soon as you sit down.
The staff are also great. Everyone we interacted with was kind, helpful, and really respectful. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked in just enough without interrupting the meal.
It can get really busy during peak times, so sometimes it’s a little hard to get through when calling in. But honestly, it’s worth the wait or effort — the food and the atmosphere make it one of the best spots in the area.
If you’re looking for authentic, comforting Korean food with great service, Seoul Garden is definitely worth a visit. We’ll for sure be going back
I was pretty hungry, so I probably ordered more food than necessary, but it was all so delicious that it was worth it.
We were seated quickly by a friendly hostess.
We got kimchi fried rice (amazing flavor and great texture), whole chicken soup (small Cornish hen in a boiling pot), beef bulgogi (savory), and fried dumplings (crispy and delicious).
The gentleman server was very good. Attended to our needs promptly.
Overall, an excellent Korean restaurant that I plan to frequent.
Being from Toronto, we have a lot of exposure to Korean food and the food here, I gotta say was good. Reminded me of home. Definitely recommend and will be back.
All of these items were quite tasty and the service was lovely. We do have to ask about seafood when ordering due to a newly discovered allergy, but there are plenty of other options.
