This used to be my go to place for Korean BBQ but not anymore. The meat became thinner, and it seems like they were using low quality meat (you would never felt like you were paying too much but today… I was very disappointed). No lettuce were given, because they had none… at 12pm… unbelievable.
If you are looking for a good korean BBQ? this is not the place. It used to be good, but not anymore. I would not recommend this place!

This place is a neighborhood gem for Korean food. Their food is actually very tasty and fresh. Although their Korean BBQ meats are all pretty good, I think they make an exceptionally good kalbi (marinated short ribs) if you’re in the mood for grilling at the table. However, their best dish is Yook Gae Jang – a spicy beef broth with shredded brisket meat and some vegetables. It’s so hearty and delicious! Perfect to warm up the soul during the colder months! Not only is it their best dish, it is the best Yook Gae Jang in all of Bergen County imo! Anyway, you can’t go wrong with any of their food choices here. All fresh and quite tasty.
Parking lot is pretty big, and the restaurant is clean but dated. And there is a cold draft in some areas of the restaurant because of all the vents that suck out the smoke. Service is fast and attentive, but the language barrier limits an enhanced service experience. But I’ve always found their service to be just good enough for me. And prices are fair and they give you lots of side dishes/appetizers with your meal. Oh, and ask for hot tea and they will give you a cup of Korean corn/barley tea which you’ll enjoy! Good job Seoul Galbi!

We went with high expectations based on the reviews, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t go well. The place seemed dirty to us, and the waitress wasn’t patient enough to explain things clearly. Although the service was good and fast, the food didn’t meet our expectations. The prices were fair for what we ate, but we honestly didn’t enjoy the meal. I don’t think we would return. I’m sorry to leave this comment, but that’s how we felt.

I ordered Galbi-tang today, and this is what I got. I’ve been to this place many times, and I always order Galbi-tang because it’s my daughter’s favorite. But this is not what we usually get — I mean, the amount of meat in the soup is way less than before. I mentioned it to the server, but server just said, “That’s how the chef made it,” and told me there’s nothing wrong with the soup. I was really disappointed with how they handled it. We didn’t even finish the soup because I just felt so let down.

We started our meal by ordering 3 BBQ for 3 people, and when no lettuce was provided, we asked for some. They only gave us 4 pieces for 3 people, and said they wouldn’t provide any more, nor was it possible to order it as a side dish. As someone who loves eating barbecue wrapped in lettuce, I was very dissatisfied. They could have simply offered it as a side menu. You’ve lost a regular customer because of simple side menu thing.

For a restaurant named after Korean BBQ, I’m slightly ashamed to admit I’ve never tried their meats. That said, this restaurant is one of few decent Korean spots outside of Fort Lee and Palisades Park. As such, it’s become a return spot for our family members who live fairly local.
As soon as you sit down, the default beverage offered is warm barley tea (which is much appreciated during those colder winter visits). The banchan, or side dishes, are few but a little more robust here than other Korean restaurants. During my last visit, we were given plates of standard kimchi, sprouts, and seasoned broccoli. I was also surprised to find pumpkin-egg salad, soy marinated lotus root, and soy-marinated ribeye pieces. The offerings change a little from visit to visit, but they’re always decent to downright delicious.
While I’ve not been wowed by anything from the menu, I’ve found most of the meals to be predictable. Hot stone bibimbap is my regular order, and I love the different proteins they offer here for mixed rice dishes. For those curious about the barbecue but unwilling to pay the high sticker price for a full entree, you can try the galbi, bulgogi, and spicy pork atop a bibimbap. During my last visit, I was delighted by the salmon hot stone bibimbap, which came with a great teriyaki marinade. My regular complaint with Seoul Galbi’s bibimbap is that the hot stone has never gotten hot enough for my rice to char and crisp (which is arguably the best part of ordering it on a hot stone. Otherwise, why else would one pay the elevated prices?).
When it comes to decor and ambiance, the restaurant is fairly no frills. As far as service goes, the waitresses have always been quick – quick to order, quick to serve, and quick to refill glasses (or, when asked, the side dishes). I also appreciate how slow they are to deliver the check, allowing conversations to linger. When my family and I came with a cake for a family member, the auntie serving our table not only came by with extra plates and silverware, she clapped and sang the ‘Happy Birthday’ song as boisterously as we.

Amazing place… honestly not sure why it’s not already rated 5 stars!!!! The food is incredibly fresh, clean, and flavorful. You come here for real Korean comfort food that makes you feel good after. The customer service is always warm and welcoming. My boyfriend and I come here every weekend religiously, and no matter how much I eat, I always leave feeling satisfied and healthy. Absolutely love this spot! This beats any mainstream restaurant in nyc – this is coming from a new yorker nativeeee!!!

We were informed of this restriction immediately after asking for the first one. They hadn’t brought lettuce before either, but they used to fulfill our requests to bring it without a limit.
