Cozy little spot for a glass of wine apres ski. Small plates are almost tapas style. Cocktails were amazing and the bar tender was knowledgeable and innovative. The wine list was a somewhat intimidating book but the servers were super helpful in helping make selections. The dining room was dark and inviting. Food was delicious and paired perfectly. I would highly recommend. Great mix of seating including high top tables, low tables, booths, and a warm nook by the fireplace.

Very cozy cute little place. With amazing drinks and awesome food menu. We had seafood soup , mussels, scallions tart and tomato tartar. Everything was out of this world. I Highly recommend this place . They even made awesome moctails for my friend that don’t drink alcohol!

Amazing restaurant and bar. I enjoyed the cocktails! Probably the best cocktail in town. Also, the wine list is outstanding. I am Vegan and they have vegan options! I had the Grilled Maitake, Fries, Marinated Olives and Chinese Broccoli. Would definitely come back!

Sentinel & Station shines as a relaxed wine bar and lounge, offering an impressively complete drink list with a strong focus on wines alongside well-rounded cocktail options. While the food menu is more limited, it’s thoughtfully curated, with a smaller selection of appetizers (beautiful maitakes) and entrees that pair nicely with the drinks rather than trying to steal the spotlight. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, ideal for lingering over a glass of wine, meeting friends, or starting (or ending) an evening out.

It is unbelievable that this place doesn’t have more reviews!
We didn’t know you had to book a table at Salt of the Earth and when we were turned around we decided to explore.
We passed by with the car and it looked like a good place – to my surprise the menu was very interesting and the plates looked stunning. So we decided to stay.
It wasn’t busy at all and when the food came out we were mind blown. Absolutely excellent, Michelin level local flavors.
We highly recommend the Mushrooms, the Shallot Tarte and the Tomato Tartare. The Guinea Fowl was impecable and although a couple of potatoes were undercooked, the Campari Olive Oil Cake was out of this World. Honestly, we did not care about a couple of potatoes.
What a find.
We are convinced next time we are in the area we will not be able to get a table. Because I want to put them on the map. I would recommend it to everyone and huge congratulations to the Chef and the team.

Sentinel & Station is such a gem! The specialty cocktails are creative, delicious, and beautifully crafted, and the wine list is thoughtfully crafted. The food is superb, with dishes that are ideal for sharing with friends, while lounging and drinking. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for the evening and just enjoy every bite, every sip, and the great vibe. Highly recommend!

I see that every review before mine was a “5 out of 5.” These folks are absolutely correct.
Honestly, I was not expecting anything spectacular and upon immediate inspection, the menu was limited. I’d hiked all day and I was a little tired and cranky. I just wanted to sit at the bar, have a beer, eat dinner and write in my journal.
I didn’t speak with anyone beyond the bar staff but I found them authentically friendly and chill. I did have a very well made Manhattan to start and the experience got better from there.
I ordered the Caesar Salad and tuna nachos (photo below). The salad was excellent. And the nachos? I suggest ordering the nachos. I don’t engage in platitudes, so….. just order the friggin nachos.
I’m here three days and I’m thinking of going back again.

We came here just to grab a drink while waiting for our dinner reservation somewhere else — but ended up canceling that reservation and staying here instead! The atmosphere was amazing, and the food options were both thoughtful and delicious. We ordered the focaccia, charcuterie board (a must-try appetizer), tomato tartare, and the surf & turf special with steak and lobster. I’d put their steak up against the best steakhouses I’ve been to; and our waitress was super lovely. Overall, a must-visit spot in Lake Placid if you’re looking for great wine, great food, and a vibe that makes you feel like you’re somewhere far from northern New York

Great dining experience! Food and drinks all well prepared. Party of 6, shared a number of menu items … all delicious! However, will say that the cesar salad dressing is the best I have ever had! Wonderful meal. Will definitely go back next time in Lake Placid!

Great experience with both the food and the beverage service. They have an eclectic and very approachable wine list, bonus for having an orange section. The environs are very cozy and the menu overall feels like something lake placid needed.
