Made it back! This time, pupus and drinks was amazing! Hamachi Kama, #14 spider roll (softshell crab), fried calamari and chicken; and gyoza. 5 Tsingtao beers and a small bottle of junmai daiginjo sake! $100 bucks of delectable food and drinks. Took home a “doggy” bag because of too much food!
Down the best on the island. Fraction of the price compared to other places.
Freshest fish and perfect rice. Melts in your mouth.
It took me back to San Francisco 20 some years ago…
We’ll be back to try most of the items on the menu and plus!!! Mahalo!!!
Edit:
We came back a week later, tried different rolls, delicious!!!
BUT, we came back yesterday at 21:00. We were immediately reminded that they were closing in 30 minutes.
There were 3 big groups still eating.
We ordered really fast and I confirmed with the waitress that they wouldn’t start cleaning before the food arrived and we eat in peace.
Well…. The staff started to clean 10 minutes later. Turning chairs upside down on the tables next to us, sweeping the floor… AND our food started to arrive. I politely asked again if they can stop cleaning, plain disrespectful.
Other guests, at least 16 in the restaurant, were still eating.
Staff wouldn’t stop cleaning.
And proceeded to wash the floors with Clorox…
The rest of our food arrived. But we couldn’t stay because of unbearable scene and smell of the chemicals.
To the owner: Respect your returning customers.
We won’t come back because you disrespected me and my kid.
This place got that right. We ordered quite a few items and every single one was five stars.
Big kudos to chef!
Unfortunately, there’s always a BUT.
I wish management would have enough ambitions to bring this place up to all five stars dining experience.
Please!!!! Kill that absolutely incompatible annoying classical play list. This kind of music isn’t for sushi restaurant!!!
Please!!!! Change TV channels.
Football isn’t a chanel to play in sushi place!!!
The table next to the bathroom.
Please!!!! Move it ,so we don’t see a garbage bin.
And the most important one. Hot tea. It absolutely cannot be served barely warm from this weird bottle.
Hopefully, management will take it seriously.
P.S. If the management would still want to make the dining experience 5+ stars, please offer half of a passion fruit as a complimentary dessert. It pairs super with your food and bring authentic hint of Hawaii.
We ordered a rainbow roll, salmon roll, yellowtail roll, and sake sashimi. In total, we only spent $35 which is pretty much unheard of where we live (California).
Ingredients tasted fresh and the only real feedback I have is that the rolls were not tight so some of them did fall apart. But, this didn’t bother us. Everything was loaded with a lot of meat, so I felt the value for the price was unmatched here.
