My wife and I were visiting the area and were walking around looking for something to eat and we stumbled upon this place.
It’s very small inside and there’s a fan blowing so that’s where the moderate noise comes from.
We got the 2 taco plate – any 2 tacos with rice and beans. We got 3 fish tacos and 1 shrimp taco. The tacos were great. The beans were good. The rice was unimpressive.
We’d eat there again and again to try all the different menu items they offer. I do recommend this place.

California Burrito Rating (15)
Embarking on a quest to rank San Diego’s California Burritos!
Stop #15: Señor Taquero
The Product:
A large burrito with crispy potatoes. The crunch and flavor of the potatoes might be thanks to the cheese coating them—absolutely delicious. Adding sour cream to the filling was a nice touch, and the marinated meat was cooked well. I’d call this a California Burrito for your everyday lunch—nothing overly creative. They offer a selection of chilled sauces, which were surprisingly tasty. The cost is around $14, which is about average for the city. 08 out of 10
Service:
Minimal but friendly interaction. 06 out of 10
Atmosphere:
The interior features some elements of Mexican culture, but they don’t quite create a cohesive vibe. With just six people in the dining area, it already felt cramped. 06 out of 10

Great little hole in the wall restaurant. Fresh, quick, made to order, the corn tortillas melt in your mouth yet don’t break apart while eating. Hot sauce and add ons tray has everything you need, mild or spicy hot. Great daily specials, three tacos $8. Very filling.

Tacos (adobado & carne asada) were SO good and do not miss the fresh salsas – cherry on top! It is a tiny spot with limited seating so take that into consideration when you visit, but you will NOT be disappointed. The carne asada sandwich was also *chef’s kiss* according to my husband

I tried this small taco place when the famous taco shop in the Gaslamp Quarter had a line going out the door on a Saturday night. I ordered adobada, carne asada and carnitas tacos and they were all delicious. This place was so good I ate here again a couple of days later and had the saudero taco special along with a adobada taco (my favorite). This place looks like it’s been here a while and I can see why, definitely worth checking out

The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I had the asada nachos and pollo tacos with a pineapple drink and it was PERFECT. The meat is cooked and seasoned perfectly, the salsas are super fresh and flavorful, and the tortillas and chips were perfect. A great little place and the staff is super awesome.
I came here on the first day of my San Diego visit and I had to come back on the last day of my trip. Amazing place all around.

Fantastic Mexican food! It’s not as fancy as other taco shop offering in the neighborhood, but it is a hidden gem. The carnival and asada tacos are bursting with flavor and served in a more traditional style. The menu is actually quite large – beyond tacos. There isn’t a lot of room inside and it ain’t fancy but it’s great where it counts. Oh, and the prices can’t be beat.

I highly recommend it! Awesome food and great service! I was a little unsure what to pick and asked for some help on three tacos. I did not regret it in the slightest. I am not 100% sure which one I got but the pork (I think it was the “carnitas”) definitely outplaying the other two with the shredded meat (birria?) coming in last (was still delicious as hell though).
If you are in the area you definitely need to visit!

Rating 4 stars for value but food is 3 star without value perspective.
This no-frills taco shop does the job for a quick, cheap, easy taco. One of the better values if cost/value is focus.
I had the Carnitas taco and added some verde with pico. Carnitas was well done but average for the style.
