I’ve never had a bad taco here. The Patagonia and the ghost are my favorite
The atmosphere was fine, it’s a bit loud in there because they share space with a brewery so if you’re looking to have any sort of conversation that’s somewhat difficult.
The staff is friendly enough, I didn’t interact much with them but they were fine.
The disappointment was the food itself. I got three different types of tacos and honestly couldn’t tell you the difference between any of them. The chips for my taste were not the best, and I didn’t love any of their sauces.
It’s a shame, because the food looks really appetizing but the flavor is just very bland. I’ve eaten my share of tacos, and I feel like I would literally prefer a Taco Bell taco supreme to any of the tacos I had at this specialty location. I was really hoping it was going to be a great little spot but as I said the food just wasn’t very good.
The place was clean, the bathrooms were clean, and there was plenty of parking but I won’t return because again, the food was below average .
We ordered our food at the counter. I saw that they had bottled drinks, like Mexican Coca-Cola and some other drinks, including Jarritos, a natural juices soda. I ordered a fruit punch one which is really delicious.
For lunch, we ordered chicken tostadas , and my husband ordered two tacos: Chorizo, Asada Asada, Cordero (lamb) and Carnitas. He could tell the difference of the different meats, and he really enjoyed the Cordero and Carnitas. The only downside was that the meats were on the warm or lukewarm side. Same thing for the chicken tostadas. I wish they would serve them a little bit more on the hot side. We ordered one chicken and empanada as well, and even though the dough is delicate and delicious, the chicken inside again was not hot enough.
Food is tasty, the place is clean, and they have a lot of great options. It’s really worth a try. Hopefully next time I will remember to let them know about the meet being under warm which can be a turn off.
Three tacos cost me about $13, what a deal.
I ate here three nights in a row while in town for business.
The atmosphere isn’t great as it shares space with a loud bar so you may want to get these to go or try to find space at a table outside.
Parking is a challenge.
I have to admit this is tasty, but more on the TexMex side.
As Mexican I always look for specific items, and this place did not have it.
We ordered barbacoa tacos, milaneza (Crispy, thin slices of grass fed steak, fresh avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, topped with a fried egg and served on a fresh baked roll) and Mexican street corn.
Something that caught my attention was the note left on each table, its this laminated note that you can flip to have the employees keeping an eye on the tables in need of sanitizing, they kept cleaning the door handles and everywhere were customers touched.
In the inside they have the place shared with 2 really tasty brewers, I got a drink from them too
Decent flavor all around but it’s all very sweet. The tacos use caramelized and pickled sweet onions which are easy on the delicate Virginian palate. The Carne Asada meat also didn’t taste spiced at all leaving what should have been the flagship taco of any taco joint tasting bland and off puttingly sweet with the onions and even blander corn tortillas.
Not a bad place, but also not a good place for taco aficionados.
