Okay decided I want some snacks/small plates and a drink and went to Senor Bear on a whim not knowing anything about the background or what type of place it was and while I’m not disappointed I can’t say it’s 5 stars. I’d give it a 4.3 or a 4.5 overall.

I had the rice nigiri which was pretty solid, for 9$ you get 2 pieces but for nigiri I was expecting more..: nigiri and less fried rice. The rice was fried and good, but took away from what could have been a good combination of complex flavors. Then I got the papaya and that was a good blend of sweet with a SLIGHT hint of spice at the end that stays on your tongue. I’ll say the food was good but not sure if I found it worth it the price point.

Had to get a digestivo so I got the Mini Negroni and well…. If you like mezcal and you like Negroni you’ll like this. No complaints it was exactly what I expected.

Overall, this is a nice date spot or a special occasion place when it’s not happy hour. When it’s not happy hour I’m not sure I’d casually walk in but happy hour has much more reasonable prices. Overall this is a solid place, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed but I’m not sure I can say I’d give it 5 stars for the price I paid. It is cool they include 20% on every bill too make sure the staff gets paid so can’t be mad about it that. Overall good spot but not somewhere I’d go casually unless it’s happy hour

Been wanting to try the Oso sister restaurant for a bit! Super cute place and crazy easy to get a reservation on a Sunday night. A little bit pricier than Oso but the dishes were def more upscale. More of a Latin influence. Margs were great! Ceviche was good too but not as good as Oso. We shared the tostada dip which was decent. For entree we got Caesar and shared the steak. The Caesar was delicious and loved how creamy and chopped it is. Steak was cooked well too. Could’ve gone w more chimichurri and the portions were pretty small. Finished with tres leches and that was delicious!! Was a good meal but not that impressive for the price. I prefer Oso!

The service was great. Shaina was knowledgeable and had suggestions and accommodations for those with nut allergies, lactose intolerance, and vegetarians all of which were in our party.
The horchata was a 11/10!! it was not like Horchata I’ve ever had. It was made with coconut milk or cream and toasted coconut on top. The second one we got had rum in it and we should not have done that. It’s way better without the rum.
Papaya/mango app 8/10
Burrata & corn with plantain chips 10/10
Coconut rice 7/10
Tomato & avocado salad-6/10. The tomatoes themselves were perfectly ripe and delicious. The avocado purée was lacking
Papas(loaded fingerlings)-7.5/10
We were cruising along great, and then the entrées came. Four of us ordered the picanha with the chimichurri sauce. And all four of us were highly disappointed. I would give it a 3/10. The french fries that came with it 9/10. Garlic aioli-6/10 tasted too much like mayonnaise
The chimichurri sauce 7.5/10
The picanha 1/10. It was so grisly and hard to cut and hard too chew, that after sawing off three bites I was too frustrated and disappointed to eat anymore. For $50, this should have been at least a 7/10.
I would go back for the horchata and apps and shareable, but not for the entrees.

I can only speak to the happy hour, which is wonderful. The little tacos are absolutely delicious, as is the queso, and the drinks are tasty and a good price for the happy hour specials. If you’re looking for a happy hour in the area, this is a great one!

If I could give this place 20 stars, I would!! Truly one of the BEST meals we’ve ever had! First, our server Sergio was absolutely incredible. We ordered all of his recommendations and loved every one of them. We started with the house bread and chorizo – SO flavorful. Next, I got the carnitas tacos and my boyfriend got the Chefs Steak. We both ate every last bite! For sides, we got the arroz de cocos and the papas. Oh. My. Gosh. Mouthwatering! I’m a picky eater so this was out of my comfort zone, but I loved everything that we got!

And the drinks – WOW! One of the best prickly pear margaritas I’ve ever had. We ate here weeks ago and we’re still talking about it! I can’t wait until we come back!!

Honestly, and truly, some of the best wait staff I’ve experienced in recent memory. However, every time I go to a restaurant and there’s only five or six items generally, it doesn’t bode well for me. I will say that the queso dip was very good. The enchiladas were absolutely horrible. I couldn’t identify if I was eating eggs or jackfruit or something else. The turkey sandwich had tons of fat in. I’m not even convinced that it was turkey. But again, let me stress how great the wait staff was. I just don’t think I would come back here because of the food however, the drinks were delicious.

Wow! This was a wonderful adventure for our taste buds. Everything we tried was excellent. Firstly, I recommend the Bear Basket. They had way more food than we could eat, everything was great, and definitely worth the price compared to getting half as many things individually.

The ceviche was mind blowing. So good (quite spicy though!)
The pulled pork tacos were crazy: they bring a whole chunk of pork on the bone!
The churros were very good.
This place was amazing. Everything seemed very thoughtfully put together.

We went in for some drinks after dinner and Chris was our bartender! He was absolutely amazing. I appreciate him wanting to mix up any concoction that came to mind. I was craving a spicy coconut to a spicy cucumber margarita and even though it wasn’t on the menu he made it happen. Can’t wait to come back!!

What a seriously special spot…

The dedication from all staff to clean, quality food and drink plus exceptional service with care and attention to individual needs is noteworthy! I popped in just quickly for a little snack before an event nearby.

I ended up staying for two delightful and FRESH cocktails: The Cucumber Marg (with some spice, as Becky the fabulous bartender informed me that any of the margs could be made with some heat…) This makes sense given that the majority of everything is made so lovingly to order. And I enjoyed a classic Paloma which was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and a little effervescent They garnished it with mint as well, which I felt was a beautiful touch.

I noted some food allergies and I might have forgotten or overlooked it, but thanks to the thoughtful staff being so mindful and asking, I left with nothing but a well nourished appetite and grateful for the delicious/nutritious options offered. Can’t wait to return and will highly recommend to all.
