We started with ahi cigars and a beautifully charred grilled romaine, both fresh and full of flavor. The pastas were standout highlights – the gnocchi was rich and comforting, while the cavatelli delivered depth and perfect texture. Even the sides, like the grilled broccolini, were thoughtfully prepared. A light, airy venison brioche added a creative finishing touch, and everything paired wonderfully with a crisp, bone-dry Riesling from the Pfalz.
Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. It’s clear the team at Senia cares deeply about the full dining experience. We left already planning our return – which is always the best compliment. A true Honolulu gem.
The Smoked Ahi Cigar and Venison Tartare were absolutely outstanding — truly “wow” dishes that impressed us from the first bite.
The brioche bread was generously loaded with butter. While flavorful, the texture was a bit dry rather than soft and chewy.
The grilled romaine salad was tasty, but the dressing was a bit too heavy. Next time, I would definitely ask for the dressing on the side.
The bone marrow was beautifully presented and came with pickles, three different salts, and oxtail. It was delicious and well worth the price, especially when spread on the bread that was served alongside it.
Unfortunately, the Wagyu steak ($90) was extremely disappointing. I mention the price because it was honestly one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. After the first bite, it genuinely crossed my mind to ask for a refund. It was surprisingly tough for Wagyu, which was very puzzling.
The service was excellent and everything else was great, but the steak was a major letdown.
We also got dessert (bread pudding and earl grey mousse) and tea. My mom loved the bread pudding and the earl grey dish felt like it was made just for me. I loved the yuzu sherbet, which balanced well with the hints of bergamot in the earl grey mousse. Not too sweet, no flavor was overpowering. The teas were a wonderful complement to the dessert course. My only wish is that there would be a decaffeinated option for tea or coffee on the menu as well.
The prices were completely reasonable and the price was completely worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back soon!
When I tell you we almost teared up at how good some of this food was, I’m not kidding.
The brioche? 12/10. The scallops? 12/10. The rolls? 12/10. The au gratin? 12/10. The lamb was phenomenal, perfect balance between rich savory and a touch of sweet with the salt options.
It was one of the best experiences I had in waikiki. Also shout out to our waitress, I didn’t catch her name but she was from Boise. So kind, attentive, timed everything perfectly.
My favorite is still the smoked ahi cigars
I’ve never tasted anything like it before. The Kona kampachi was incredibly fresh, and the roasted bone marrow is a must-try, especially with the three different salts they give you. The chestnut agnolotti with sage and cranberry was so flavorful and perfectly balanced.
If you’re looking for a chill but elevated dinner spot, this place is worth it. Great food, great service, and such a nice vibe. Can’t wait to come back!
Super for a special date night or anniversary, or just an awesome meal!
I’ll be back for sure!
We LOVED the bone marrow dish. So original and delicious. Can’t say enough good things about it.
Then following this we got the flat iron steak, which was not cheap (at $90) and also not good. The meat was very sweet, the bok Choy under seasoned, and the puree super starchy. We had to ask the waitress to bring us hot sauce and pepper just to put on the food to make it edible to our taste. What was strange was that after this our waiter ignored us the rest of the time. Didn’t
ask why we would need the hot sauce – which should have been a red flag. It felt like he was avoiding us not wanting to take any feedback. This really ruined the experience unfortunately.
ahi cigars and venison brioche to start; roasted bone marrow, hamachi, and agnolotti mains; London fog for dessert
also probably the best martini I have ever had!
