Reviews
I stopped in at Sen on Hunter and tried their Pho with rare beef and their specialty spring rolls, and both dishes really showed off what this place does well.
Pho Rare Beef
The broth had that classic Vietnamese depth—clean, aromatic, and comforting without being overly salty. The rare beef was tender and fresh, and the noodles were cooked just right. It’s the kind of pho that feels balanced: not too heavy, not too light, and full of flavour. A solid bowl that I’d happily order again.
Specialty Spring Rolls
The spring rolls were the standout. Crisp, golden, and packed with flavour, with herbs and dipping sauce that lifted everything. They tasted fresh and well-seasoned, not oily or bland like you sometimes get elsewhere. If you’re visiting, these are a must‑order.
Overall
Sen on Hunter delivers quality Vietnamese food with clean flavours and generous portions. The dishes feel thoughtfully prepared, and the menu has a good mix of traditional favourites and house specialties. I’d definitely go back—especially for the spring rolls.
Day 2, I returned die a cheeky bahn mi and one again not the most full in terms of packing it in. But, the bread was fresh and crispy, the pork belly was tender but with the ideal crispy skin. I did ask for chili, but they may have thought i was a white boy who couldn’t handle heat . They’re wrong. Will I return? Yes…Definitely. ill just say ‘gimme viet chili .
It is worth mentioning, that when I went in for lunch, there was a table full of Vietnamese aunties having lunch there. Now, I’m not Vietnamese, but I can hazard a guess that this crowd is probably the final boss’s of hard to impress etc. They looked pretty happy to me!!!!!
The textures are incredible too: juicy and crunchy at the same time, which is not easy to pull off but they do it effortlessly here.
The service was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole dining experience even better.
I haven’t tried the PHO yet, but after this first visit, I’m definitely coming back for it. If the rest of the menu is anything to go by, it’s going to be something special. Highly recommended!
Better than the Vietnamese food you can get in Sydney.
Will definitely be back.
Will definitely be back
The pork was perfectly crispy, juicy and full of flavour that complimented the rest of the roll. The pâté was divine and mixed perfectly with the mayo. The bun had that perfect crunch on the outside yet was so fluffy within.
Service was quick, friendly and genuinely kind.
Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
Having a larger appetite I found the portion of rice noodles didn’t leave me feeling entirely full, but if you ask the staff they’ll gladly give you extra!
