We ate at Semilla at the end of November for date night and had an amazing time! Julian (I may be spelling it wrong) was very attentive to us and explained the menu and wine selection and was always ensuring we had everything we needed. The prices in my opinion are fantastic, especially for Miami Beach! This is not a tourist trap. This is a small family owned business that has been around since 2013. To put it into perspective, the amazing 10oz steak was barely $40! Most places in the area will charge $60-80 for the same cut, and you won’t get the peppercorn sauce made in-house like you do here! Double win!!

Homemade Foie Gras Terrine with black pepper and fig jam with their incredible French baguette
Escargots Persillés: Bone in Marrow & Toasted Bread
‍ Summer Truffle Raviole: absolutely a MUST! And it’s on the happy hour menu too!
Classic New York Steak Au Poivre with peppercorn sauce (addiction warning!) and french fries
Floating Island: a fluffy soft cloud of Crème Anglaise
Chocolate Mousse

Chef Frederic Joulin and his family pour their hearts into every dish which is felt in every bite! Creating French cuisine in-house with local ingredients and being conscious of dietary restrictions and sensitivities with gluten free options and more!

We can’t wait to come back for more! Their bartender is fantastic and made one of the best old fashions we’ve had! And their happy hour specials are definitely worth checking out

Semilla is the kind of neighborhood restaurant you hope never changes! Chef/owner Frédéric sets the tone by personally checking in with guests throughout the evening which adds such a personal touch and makes the whole experience feel special.

We went for one of their couscous nights (this was our second), and we loved it again. Everything was amazing but the merguez was beyond delicious. We added on an appetizer (bone marrow / escargot) and it was incredible.

The restaurant has a fantastic vibe, a great wine list, and overall excellent service. It’s been around for ages, and it’s easy to see why: great ingredients, great food, great service, and consistency.

Some of the best food I have ever had. We went for happy hour and ended up getting a bunch of apps (tacos, potstickers, sliders, calamari, brussels, oysters) which were all well made and delicious. Highlight were probably the sliders. Finished with the chocolate mouse which was lite and also delicious. We will go back the next time we are in town for sure.

Great food and attentive service. Beautiful place for Valentine’s Day dinner. Seafood salad special was small but delicious. Truffle pasta, beef tartare, and old fashioned cocktail all hit the mark. And a bunch of roses at each table! So glad I was able to book this place last minute.

Semilla on Alton Road in Miami Beach is the real deal. From the moment you walk in, you can feel it’s family-driven and built with pride.

The steak was cooked perfectly — tender, flavorful, and done right. The clams were outstanding. The goat cheese salad was fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor — not just an afterthought, but done with intention. The wine selection was excellent and paired beautifully with the meal.

What makes this place stand out even more is the people. The son behind the bar, the mom greeting guests as hostess, the uncle working as chef, and the dad leading as head chef and owner — you can feel the heart behind it. That kind of family energy changes the entire experience.

Noise level was medium — lively but still easy to have a conversation. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and elevated without feeling forced.

Food quality was superb across the board.

If you’re in Miami Beach and want serious food, strong wine, and authentic family atmosphere, Semilla is absolutely worth it.

The food was perfectly served and the taste, OMG!!! for the chef, the frech cusine always is one of the best. We tried to get mostly the top dishes but all were delicious. Outside seating is lovely for a dinner and to get the Miami evening vibes!!!

We’ve been eating here almost every week or two for the past year. We usually do HH at the bar – they have a GREAT HH. Food is always fantastic, and the cocktails are creative and good.

We’ve also eaten off the main menu for dinner, and were not disappointed. Top tier food quality at moderate, neighborhood friendly prices. Lots of traditional, comfort food, French faire and more.

This is a family owned place, with Master Chef Fred behind the bar, his wife as hostess/server, and when the kids are around, they work as well. Always great service.

Definitely one of our the favorite places in Greater Miami, not just the beach.

It gets busy here, so if you’re not there when they open, make a reservation.

Love it here.

Great service, great food and wine selection. We had a red wine called Haut-Rocher that really opened our minds to French wine. Recommend going to this restaurant
