We visited today for the first time. We have heard for a while how good this establishment is, today we discovered just how amazing it is. Entrees we chose: Pork tenderloin with fried okra and collards, Berry Blue Filet with a petit Orthodox salad and the Days gone by Burger with cottage fries. Let me first say that the steak was melt in your mouth delicious and the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. I really liked the petite salad, and the blackberry ginger dressing was a great touch! My husband cleaned his burger up quickly. It had onions caramelized in balsamic vinegar and the cheese was fried before adding to the burger. He loved it! My MIL had the tenderloin with the collards and okra. She loved all of it. The collards were a bit sweet which was surprising. Lastly the Afrer Dark dessert was a great way to top off the meal! The decadent and slightly bitter taste of dark chocolate combined with the lovely sweet cream was wonderful. To those with hearing issues it was a tad loud, but the atmosphere is great. I look forward to returning soon. All in all a great place to eat for my birthday!

Casually Fine. It’s the slogan for Select, posted right on the restaurant’s outdoor sign. Located on Trade Street in the heart of downtown Greer, we dined on New Year’s Eve. Several of the guests took the casual part seriously, feeling comfortable in everything from trucker’s hats and plaid shirts, to sweaters and slacks. Our server, Daniel, appeared to be rather new, serving red wine vinegar with the “Bruschetta Enchantment” when we requested balsamic, and Rose All Day when we requested sparkling Rose. To his credit, his description of the unique Monte Cristo preparation was sufficient to appropriately guide us to a different selection. We had two steak entrees. The BERRY BLUE FILET ($59/$69, Filet mignon center-cut Certified Black Angus medallions, enthroned on a bed of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, crowned with SELECT Berry Blue, topped with a fresh tuile and drotzels of blueberry coulis) was excellent. Prepared as ordered, cut like butter. Daniel didn’t ask our preference, but charged us for the larger size. On the other hand, the NOUVEAUX RIBEYE ($63, Certified Black Angus center-cut ribeye seared, seasoned, and grilled to your liking. Enchanted with our walnut, garlic, sherry compound butter. Served with hand-crafted roasted garlic mashed potatoes) suffered from the problem with Ribeyes- difficult to even cut on one end due to gristle untrimmed. It was bad enough Select should speak with their meat supplier on this cut. We shared asparagus (6 stalks at $9) which was flavorful, but pricey. With two Maker’s and the correct Sparkling Rose the tab topped $200. That’s special event pricing for a meal and service not that special.

How people can rate this place less than five stars is beyond me. The food and service here rivaled any nice restaurant in Greenville. Lisset was amazing, I barely put the paper from my straw on the table and she was there picking it up. She also gave wonderful suggestions on the menu. Our candle went out on our table and someone came over and relit it unprovoked. Bartenders made delicious drinks and the food was outstanding. We tried the steaks and they were cooked to perfection and the sides were very good as well. Burrata was very tasty and even had a little kick to it. For dessert we shared the skillet cookie which was the perfect size for sharing. We will definitely be back even though it’s 30 minutes from home.

The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful; comforting, cozy and refined. Mercedes was very pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was exceptional; nothing out performed the other; we had the fried green tomatoes (classic southern staple), Candy Chop and the Age of Memories? (chicken dish). In my opinion, Select is the standard of what Greer should ascribe to.

We had an excellent experience, dining here, and the food was next level. Our server, Abraham was extremely professional and attentive. They don’t freeze their calamari and you can sure taste the freshness. The burger with the candied bacon was one of the best I’ve had, and I eat a lot of burgers. The meat was cooked to perfection and we will be back when in town again. Great little downtown area for a walk after dinner. Brick paved streets, add a historic touch.

The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our server, Lily, was an absolute joy! She remembered our names and addressed us as if we were old friends. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. Smooth jazz tunes playing lightly in the background. Beautiful artwork hanging on the walls.
The food was delicious ! I had too much on my plate, so I had to take some home. I had a wonderful French Vanilla coffee with fresh made cream. For some, the food might be more than they are wanting to pay. However, it is a wonderful experience!

Brunch escape! Treat yourself, you deserve! Definitely will be back!

Loved Select Resturaunt!! Our waitress Lily was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the food and the ingredients. This was very important as my wife has many allergies! Lily was even able to make a dessert beverage made of almond milk, honey and cinnamon! She named it after my wife! So if you need anything milk free dessert beverage, ask for The Loanne! Ok, no one else knows about the drink except Lily…so you might have to ask her!

We went here for our anniversary dinner. We loved it! The waitress was so nice to us and made sure everything was to our likes. The food was amazing! It is expensive but with the quality of food it was worth it. Maybe not a everyday restaurant but definitely a great place to go to celebrate.

We were staying in downtown Greer during the crazy snowstorm a couple of weeks ago, I meant to leave this review earlier but we were traveling once the roads improved. Our server, Lillie (I think this is how she spells it) was awesome! She was attentive and remembered our names the next day when we came in again. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet so we could carry on a conversation. The food was phenomenal and this was one of the few restaurants to be open during the snow storm. It is pricey, but the food tasted amazing and Lillie provided great, personalized service. My husband had the scallops one night and an Italian dish the second night, I had the French dip and the next night I had one of the salads. The food was cooked perfectly and the seasonings on the potatoes and vegetables were very flavorful. Then, the best part, the strawberry pandowdy. Oh. My. Goodness. The best dessert I have ever had! I am not surprised this dessert won an award! We will be back for sure and we hope Lillie will be there as well!
