Secret Thai is the best secret on nautical mile! A cute and cozy family owned restaurant if you love Thai food or just want a delicious bite, this is the place you need to be! Like the other reviews have mentioned they do have their own parking lot, which is more of a reason why you should definitely go! They also have a very cute back patio for fun summer vibes!

I had the secret Thai chicken wings, which were perfectly cooked very crispy and that secret Thai sauce is out of this world! I also ordered a side of egg fried rice again cooked to perfection. And for dessert, I had the fried ice cream which was also very tasty!

The food is absolutely incredible! Family owned and run by a mother and son duo, this spot brings all the best Thai flavors to Long Island from crispy Thai wings and flavorful peanut dumplings to the best garlic pepper calamari I’ve ever had! And don’t even get me started on the Red Curry with Half Duck, absolute must try!

Whether you’re in the mood for a chill night out or a cozy date night, this spot’s got you covered with indoor + outdoor seating.

Hands down one of my favorite local neighborhood Thai spots. I’ve been here 5+ times and it’s always consistently great. Their fried snapper is incredible and my favorite dish— perfectly crispy, tender inside, and covered in the most flavorful sauce with fresh veggies. The food, drinks, and teas never miss. You can tell everything is made with care, and it keeps me coming back every time. A true gem in the neighborhood.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal Thai experience!

I thought I had a favorite Thai spot locked in—until I came here. From the moment I walked in, everything felt elevated: the cozy ambiance, the attentive service, and most importantly, the food. I ordered the Pad See Eww, and honestly, it was next-level—perfectly balanced, with tender noodles, smoky wok flavor, and crisp, vibrant veggies that brought every bite to life. Everything was fresh!

To top it off, I tried the Naree cocktail, and it was the kind of drink that makes you stop mid-conversation just to savor it. Smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to love. If you’re a Henny lover this would be your top choice!

This place officially dethroned my usual go-to. Everything about the experience hit the mark, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone who wants Thai food done right—and then some.

This place sucks. I ordered calamari and they were not fresh. It was extremely breaded and crispy. I was able to snap the calamari into pieces. I do not recommend. I also ordered margaritas. Cheap tequila was used for $13. After complaining about the calamari it wasn’t even reduced off my bill. Not going there again.

The Secret is… It’s Not Thai!!! Owner had replied to my review, and I totally disagree!! As a chef, you should give your customers what they expect, not what you think is right… with Thai food, you should at the very least ask- how spicy would you like… not assume that a customer cannot have spicy foods! It’s insulting to me..
I’m torn. Truly, utterly torn. I had such high hopes for this place, especially with all the glowing reviews. The secret is out, and it’s a big, fat letdown. Let me start with the good, because there’s a lot of it. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere is charming and the staff is genuinely kind. Our server was attentive and kind. The plates that came out were nothing short of art—beautifully presented with a clear emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions are also incredibly generous; my plate felt like it could feed a small family. And let’s be real, the food tastes good. The Duck was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were crisp, and the sauce was well-balanced and savory.
So what’s the problem? The secret is, this food isn’t Thai. At all. It’s like Thai food went on a vacation to the Midwest and forgot its passport. Every dish we ordered—from the curry to the pad thai—lacked the foundational pillars of Thai cuisine: the aromatic complexity of lemongrass, the sharp tang of lime, and most importantly, the fire of chili. We asked for “Thai spicy,” and what we got was a dish that a one year-old could handle. It was, in a word, bland. The flavors were so muted that they were almost unrecognizable. It’s a complete and total bait-and-switch.
It’s frustrating because the potential is there. The ingredients are top-notch, the service is wonderful, and the presentation is beautiful. But without the authentic flavors and, let’s be honest, the spice, it’s just another well-prepared but ultimately boring meal. I wish I could give it more stars, but for a restaurant that markets itself as “secret Thai,” the lack of genuine Thai flavor is an unforgivable offense. It’s proof that sometimes you just can’t trust the hype.

I’m so picky with Thai food and this spot is LEGIT! Ahmee and his staff are absolutely incredible- the recipes are passed down from generation to generation. The new dish, garlic pepper calamari is an absolute MUST!

I was in the mood for Thai food I found this spot in Freeport. Arrived pretty late so it was 45 minutes to closing. We were received well. It was empty due to the time we arrived. The place is quaint and casual vibe. There is a bar at the restaurant.
It’s clean and decorated nicely. Cute outdoor area in the back of the restaurant.
We ordered quickly due to timing.
I ordered the secret appetizer platter with fried chicken wings, shrimp, and spring rolls. My friends ordered fried rice and shrimp pad Thai.
The food was ok…tasty!
Portions are plentiful.
For drinks Thai iced tea and a beer. Thai iced tea was delicious.
The prices are reasonable.
Parking is available in the rear.
