Secret Beach is awesome for calm clear water, shell hunting, and lounge chairs! We got a couples massage on the pier which was excellent and a really good value. You can find TONS of shells if you snorkel along the rocky and grassy parts of the shore. When it’s windy on the windward side, it’s pretty calm here and the sunsets are way better than the main side. Worth the drive out for sure. The only downs sides are rocky areas getting in and out of the water and the vendors that come through to hustle. That’s a bummer because what separates Belize from Mexico is the chill laid back vibes and you typically don’t get people hustling you, bummer to see that getting more prevalent.

My visit to Secret Beach in Belize was an incredible experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning scenery and laid-back island atmosphere. Not-very-secret beach. Long(40+ minutes via golf cart), rough, bumpy road to get there. Like sports bra needed rough. Really windy when we went, and many said that was typical. So pack or wear layers. A lot of “bars” to chose from. We went to the Swing bar, heading to the left side of things. Family owned, great people. Pretty chill place, but definitely could be a party place too, depending on your mood and group. Checked out the OG area too. Again decent, chill or fun to be had, based on what you are looking for.

There is a great beach area which includes a floating water park for kids to play. There are picnic tables with pajamas in the ocean for enjoying the warm waters and the libations of your choice. You can stay here or visit from wherever you are staying on the island. It was a blast.

I know everybody says this is a tourist spot and it is. If you are actually there in the mornings or evenings that is a very chill Place sure the prices may be higher but if I had the choice to stay on this side or down in South San Pedro I would definitely stay on the secret beach side. After 6:00 p.m. it is all chill and nobody is around barely and it’s only a 20-minute drive to get to any food or restaurants and it’s really not even that bad of a drive the roads and San Pedro are here because of all the little dips at the four ways the food is good and it is a little pricey compared to some but no pricier than some of the bigger Tourist restaurants in San Pedro I mean of course it’s going to be more than a kiosk. Also you have to find the right place if you are going to like blue bayou or water park and things like that you’re hitting the more popular tourist ones but you can also swing into like the swing bar or something where it’s quiet and chill reggaeton music and more laid back, or auroras. Also dont feel obligated to park where people are telling you, you can go anywhere they just want your business. Also beaches are public in belize so just go as you please. Overall you just got to know what you’re looking for and I would recommend it’s a place to stay not do day trips.

It’s an adventure to get here by golf cart, takes almost 45 minutes, but you get to see a lot of the island interior by doing so. Highly recommend making the trek at least once during your stay in San Pedro. The floating obstacle course was a fun and unique experience! Also loved dining on tables in the water! Only downside here is the constant soliciting from vendors walking by and bothering you to buy their crafts, including “irregular brownies” which we didn’t really appreciate. Overall a great experience for the family.

a long bumpy golf cart ride there , pack some beer for the trip there. worth going , calm clear water. lots of fun, can snorkel and swim in 2-6 ft of water for a long way out. jet skis , water blowup thing to play on, at least 4-5 restaurants with variety of food and all the drinks jut like you can get in town. have not been able to find breakfast at secret beach. though. summers there is worth it!

I don’t know if the people who leave 5 star reviews for this place are blind or have never been to a beach in their life. This is by far the most disgusting and neglected beach I’ve ever seen. All the loungers, tables and umbrellas look like they’re 30 years old. Wooden tables in the water are falling apart and are overgrown with sea weed. Who even thought that placing wooden furniture in water was a good idea? Literally any beach in the world looks better than this, even in underdeveloped countries like Albania or Vietnam. We were utterly disappointed and honestly shocked. Further there is rubbish lying around everywhere including leftover dishes from the previous day which were rotting in the sun and attracted birds. The photos were taken at 10am. Seriously, don’t bother. Look for a well maintained resort beach on the other side of the island north of San Pedro instead.
