Reviews
For entrées, we enjoyed the shrimp and grits, halibut, and lobster roll, and every dish was incredible—perfectly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
What truly elevated the experience was our server, Delphenia. She was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the menu but also about New Orleans history, which added a special and memorable touch to the night.
Overall, this was an unforgettable evening and an absolute must-go when visiting New Orleans. We can’t wait to return
Returning for a second visit, this establishment definitively proved its culinary prowess. Despite minor operational distractions, the kitchen executed a meal that was nothing short of outstanding, cementing this restaurant’s status as a must-visit for serious food lovers.
The Stellar Performance of the Plate
The true star of the evening was, without question, the food. Every dish demonstrated an impressive understanding of balance and depth, with flavors expertly calibrated and perfectly “on par.” This level of consistency, especially on a follow-up visit, speaks volumes about the talent and precision of the chefs. The menu offers thoughtful, exciting compositions that manage to deliver complexity without pretense.
The quality of the cuisine alone was sufficient to elevate the entire experience, transforming what might have been a good meal into a truly memorable and exceptional one.
Service: A Note on the Front Lines
While the culinary elements dazzled, the overall service structure could benefit from minor polish. Specifically, a noticeable distraction came from the oyster shuckers’ station. While these talented individuals are integral to the dining experience, their conversation—which strayed into loud, excessively personal anecdotes about “hooking up with random people”—was inappropriate for the dining room.
A restaurant operating at this level must maintain an atmosphere of professional decorum. The front-of-house staff, including the raw bar team, must be mindful that their conversations are audible and can intrude upon the guests’ intimate dining experience.
However, this minor lapse was a mere footnote. Ultimately, the excellence of the food was more than enough to carry the entire meal, confirming the restaurant’s reputation and justifying a return visit.
Quiet but the food is fresh and good. Tried small plates, sweet and the wine. Like the name, the restaurant smell a little fishy. Not something negative, everything is fresh! Would come here again. Such a hidden gem. If you are a foodie and want a quiet place to enjoy. This is the place to go!
I also hate to detract from the seafood here but the burger is also noticeably better than most of what NOLA offers in this department.
