One word Mihai-such a nice guy! My husband and I visited two weeks on our 5 year anniversary trips and had an amazing time! I sent a friend here this weekend who was visiting Pheonix and he agreed with me on my analysis- great bartending, attentive, kind, and funny. A great atmosphere and a hilarious experience. I didn’t experience the food but for a good drink and conversation, I’ll be back. Mihai wasn’t my only good experience with servers/bartenders, but unfortunately I cannot remember the names of the other 🙁 VISIT THEM for the SCOTCH and some whiskey, atmosphere certainly; the options can’t be beat.

Stopped in because I was passing through for work. Ran across this lovely bar. And the people in it was just awesome. Very
Hospitable very friendly very clean. Rachelle was my bartender and she was just great.
Prompt with the drinks and refills. I ordered the fish-and-chips. And I don’t know how many people have some really terrible Cod, fish-and-chips. Well, this is nothing like that. This is the best fish-and-chips I have had ever and I was told that it is very similar to the cod Used in irish pubs in ireland. Even the fries was awesome, very, very flaky fish and had a great taste to the cod. The is fresh and hand batteted. I hear the Ruben sandwich is a good pick i will be back to try tomorrow. Please don’t snooze on this pub the food is hearty and they don’t skimp on the serving size and it made to order.

Hello Shianne McNeil,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback, and we’d like to clarify an important detail for you and for anyone reading this review in the future. The loading zone where you chose to park and disregard all the “Do Not Park” signs is not owned by Seamus McCaffrey’s Irish Pub, nor is it controlled by their staff. It is a City-of-Phoenix–regulated loading zone that Hotel San Carlos pays to maintain for guest drop-offs, essential deliveries and most important for Emergency Access.
Because this zone must remain clear and is regularly monitored, there are permanently installed “No Parking” signs in addition to large orange cones for additional visibility. Any vehicle parked there in violation of posted signage receives a standard courtesy warning. This warning is simply meant to prevent the need for towing—which is required by city regulations. It is never intended to embarrass or upset anyone.
It’s also important to mention that Seamus McCaffrey’s is not involved in parking enforcement in this area. Their business should not be penalized for city-regulated parking rules that they do not have control over.
In case you are new to this area, Seamus McCaffrey’s has been a beloved Downtown Phoenix landmark for decades, known for its hospitality and loyal guests and delicious food. We feel it’s important that reviews reflect actual experiences with the restaurant itself, as their long-standing reputation has been built on genuine service, not misunderstandings unrelated to their business such as parking violations.
Thank you for your understanding.

Located in downtown Phoenix, this establishment is a hidden gem. It’s the perfect spot for late night drinks or satisfying any food cravings. The staff are incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is lively, and the food is absolutely delicious. For starters, we had the chicken wings, which I would rate 4.5 out of 5. The Corned Beef and Cabbage dish was truly delectable, earning a solid 4.5 out of 5. The Irish Boxty and fish and chips both received a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. The portion sizes were very generous, making it a challenge to finish everything. Additionally, they offer a selection of authentic Irish beers and scotch for those looking for a true taste of Ireland. I highly recommend this place based on my fantastic experience.

My daughter and I came here four years ago durning a volleyball tournament. We enjoyed the food back then so now that we’re back in town we made a point of coming back and it was well worth it! The food is reasonably priced, service is great, and the food was delicious!

Was staying at the Hilton around the corner for a few days and I stopped in every night. The wings are probably the best in all of downtown: they are crispy, hot, and perfectly sauced. The Irish whiskey cake is phenomenal—do not sleep on it! I usually had a couple beers whenever I was in, but I met a small group at the bar one night and they bought me a lemon drop shot and it was damn good. (Should’ve got a photo with them—the English blonde I was talking to was cute.) Alex was my bartender most nights—shout out to him and shout out to Matt. I’ll probably be back in the spring for another concert, so I’ll see you guys then.

Dishonest billing, hidden fees, and shady practices — beware.

If you value honesty and transparency, stay far away from this place.

I went in on October 4, 2025, with my wife and two others. The bill totaled $138.43 — but what was on that bill is the real problem.

First, two beers were added that I never ordered. My receipt clearly shows “Cali Squeeze” and “Tower Station,” both priced at $8.32 each. When I confronted the waitress (Rachelle), she gave me a lame excuse that a “new person” — who wasn’t even my server — supposedly went to my table and added them. She did apologize afterward, but that doesn’t excuse the situation. My wife even overheard another table complaining about the exact same issue: drinks added to their bill that they never ordered. That’s not coincidence — that’s a shady pattern.

She eventually refunded the beers, but only after I called her out. No accountability, just a refund once she was caught. If I hadn’t checked the receipt carefully, they would’ve gotten away with it.

Then came the upsell. I asked for their beef dip, which they no longer serve. The waitress suggested the poutine instead but never mentioned that everything would be billed à la carte. They charge extra for gravy, and the amount they give barely covers the fries. When I asked for more gravy, she didn’t mention there’d be another charge until it appeared on the bill. My receipt has multiple separate “GRAVY $2.08” line items — a complete nickel-and-dime move.

Between the unauthorized drink charges, undisclosed add-ons, and the half-hearted apology after being caught, this place operates without integrity. My wife overheard another table having the same problem, which makes it clear this isn’t a one-time mistake.

Between the shady billing, hidden upcharges, and lack of transparency, this was one of the most dishonest dining experiences I’ve had. If you do eat here, check every single line on your bill — or better yet, spend your money somewhere honest.
