Our visit to Sealand Pho in Nanaimo was a very positive experience. I had the Sealand Special Beef Pho, and it truly hit the mark—the broth was flavorful and well-balanced, the meats were of good quality, and the ratio of noodles to meat was just right. The fresh bean sprouts, lemon wedges, and the excellent chili oil were thoughtful touches that made the dish even more enjoyable.
We also tried one of the vermicelli bowls. While the overall dish was okay, the spring roll lacked a bit of flavor and didn’t taste as fresh. The vermicelli noodles themselves seemed to fall apart a bit—perhaps due to overcooking or the type of noodle used. Still, it was a satisfying meal.
The service was very friendly, and one of the most unique features of Sealand Pho is its stunning location. The view from our table overlooking the water added something truly memorable to the experience. And for a place with such a premium setting, the pricing is more than fair—likely even better than what you’d find in less desirable locations.
There’s room for a few small improvements, but this restaurant shows a lot of heart and potential. Wishing the team at Sealand Pho continued growth and success. May your hospitality and hard work nourish many in this beautiful city.
Shrimp salad rolls and the Special pho.
Also, thank you for being so accommodating on the phone call! As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry and to-go services I understand the importance of quality control and freshness.
I ordered the Hot and Sour vegetable soup, my companion had the Won Ton soup. There were numerous add ons available.
We have tried a few Pho restaurants in Nanaimo. This one is tops.
There are a few designated parking spots for this restaurant. Important to pay attention.
The view of the harbor is now a bit obscured, but the food cannot be equaled.
