The service was great, we didnt have to ask for drink refills they came promptly to check throughout the meal. The kids ordered hibachi (we got a regular table) and they loved it. We ordered some kani salad, spring rolls and a few rolls to share and it was all fantastic! Finding good sushi seems to be challenging lately and I’m glad to have confidence in this spot for when we are in the mood for it. Also, the mango margarita with patron is *chefs kiss*.

The food at this restaurant is always amazing and so fun to watch it being prepared right in front of us. That all goes without saying. My husband and I met our kids and grandkids here for a birthday supper for myself and my daughter-in-law. We didn’t mention the birthdays but the owner (I think) had come out and greeted us while we were waiting for the chef. He noticed there were a couple of gift bags so he asked who’s birthday it was. He was funny and sweet. After the meal was over, I saw the hostess and a waiter coming to our table with a little birthday parade. They gave my daughter in law and me each a dish of delicious fried ice-cream with a candle and sang happy birthday. It was so kind, generous and thoughtful. Overall a truly wonderful experience.

This was my first time going there, and it definitely won’t be the last. The sushi was excellent and very delicious. I didn’t have the hibachi this first go around. But I will be getting a group together and going specifically for that. Even typing this out now I am craving the dragon roll. If you aren’t sure what to get or you have picky people in your group, there is literally something here for everyone!

Excellent customer service. I had put my jacket on and the owner came over to ask if I was cold. He adjusted the temperature quickly. The food is always fresh and made perfectly every time. Also they have the best tea I have ever had and I use to live in Japan so I have had some really good tea but theirs is my favorite.

Had reservations on a busy Friday night for hibachi with 9 people. We were celebrating my daughter and neices birthday. We were told they were short staffed, and you never would of known!!! Our food was delicious. Every staff member was friendly And once they found out about the girls’ birthday they brought out desert and made such a big deal!! We can’t wait to go back!! Thank you for a great experience and delicious food

We went for my birthday dinner with a large group of people. We did the hibachi. It was very entertaining, and our cook was very funny! The food was delicious! Drinks were great! Service was awesome! Some pricing was alittle high, but kinda expected for dinner and a show. We have gone a few times, and will be back! They sang happy birthday to me and brought out a dessert, which was rather tasty! What a great night.

Explanation of my mixed rating:
Food 5 stars: I love their food, and they are accommodating of making sauces with gluten free ingredients. I give this a five despite them ending the deluxe veggie roll they had which was my favorite thing of theirs and most unique roll they had compared to other restaurants with sushi, including the ones I’ve been to in Portland. It’s really too bad they stopped carrying it, and the amount of times a takeout order has had a mistake.

Service 3 stars: they are extremely friendly inside, but I’m giving this a three because of how “tell me you don’t want people to order takeout without telling me you don’t want people to order takeout” it is.
They don’t have an online user interface for ordering. Neither does Lotus, but both Pure Thai and Thai Dish do, and it makes it a lot easier to order from there. Lotus doesn’t have online order form either, but they do allow you to pay with a card for carry out. Sea 40 only accepts cash for takeout orders, so this can create an accessibility barrier.
The environment inside is frequently so loud that people have a hard time hearing you over the phone and it leads them to coming across as irritable (when they are actually very nice people) and have a hard time understanding what you’re saying.
I love the food from here and the staff is great, but the big picture experience of ordering takeout from here has been so unpleasant as a whole and over time that we have just stopped doing that entirely ever since they stopped carrying their deluxe veggie roll because it’s avoidable stress, as much as I like them otherwise.

If you or whoever you’re going with – adults or children – is easily overstimulated and stressed out by too much sound, I highly suggest taking ear protection that reduces sound while still allowing you to hear clearly.
I do love going here, but we will absolutely bring ear protection.
