We were welcomed so warmly and genuinely that you immediately relax. The restaurant is spotless, calm, and thoughtfully designed. A small but important detail I loved: the menu is presented on compact tablets. You don’t see that often, and it’s incredibly convenient — with photos, clearly structured sections, and intuitive navigation. You can tell it was carefully thought through.
We started with the pâté. Served exactly as it should be: good bread, dried fruits on a board, sweet jam, and fresh herbs. Classic, timeless, and beautifully executed. The pâté itself was incredibly smooth, delicate, absolutely fresh — no lumps, no heaviness.
I should probably say this once so I don’t repeat myself later: every dish we tried felt exceptionally fresh. You can sense that many things are prepared à la minute, straight from the knife, or at least assembled specifically for the guest. The quality of ingredients is high, and the food isn’t overloaded with sauces — instead, it lets the real flavors shine.
Next came the octopus, served on a bed of asparagus with gently stewed cherry tomatoes. Octopus is often tricky — rubbery more often than not — but this was not that case. Tender, perfectly cooked, and balanced.
Then we tried the seafood ceviche with shrimp, squid, and octopus. The sauce had a bright, refreshing acidity with tropical fruit notes, and corn — an unexpected but wonderful addition. For some, this might not be a “classic” ceviche, but it’s absolutely worth trying. It works beautifully at the beginning of a meal or right in the middle, when you’ve tasted a lot and want to reset your palate and keep going. This dish was one of my absolute favorites of the evening.
Next — liver. Not something you often order in restaurants; it feels risky, and it’s not something you cook frequently at home either. Here, it’s a 100% must-order. Clearly soaked (most likely in milk), incredibly tender, cut into small pieces and fried until a delicate crust forms. Served with a creamy sauce.
It eats almost like… liver popcorn. Light, addictive, and dangerously easy to finish. Perfect as a hot appetizer.
We also ordered escargots — beautifully prepared, clean, high-quality, baked in a cheesy crust. We nearly fought over the last one.
The mussels in cream sauce were elegant and generous: plenty of sauce, perfectly toasted white bread made for dipping, and mussels that were fresh, clean, and full of flavor.
Then came the vareniki. And you might think, how can vareniki surprise anyone? But they did. The local chef clearly loves working with simple ingredients and turning them into something unexpected — and he succeeds.
Potato vareniki with truffle. The balance was perfect: potato and truffle, ultra-thin dough, so light that even though we were already full, we just kept eating them.
Earlier in the meal, we also had a beet salad with goat cheese and strawberry accents. Strawberries weren’t just decoration — they added a gentle acidity and freshness. A classic salad, but lightened and made very summery by removing heavier elements like arugula or nuts, which are so often added elsewhere.
For the final hot dish, we ordered beef stroganoff, beautifully plated on a long rectangular plate: mashed potatoes served separately, the beef stroganoff on its own, with pickles alongside. This dish can easily be dry or chewy, but here the meat fell apart into fibers.
Our waitress was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring — she noticed every small gesture, changed plates so sauces wouldn’t mix, and made us feel truly looked after.
For dessert, despite having no space left, we ordered crème brûlée — and there was no way not to. A delicate, thin caramelized crust and a subtle citrus note underneath. It felt like the perfect ending. Honestly, I can’t imagine a better one.
Every dish we tried was thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable.
Sea Pearl is one of those places you leave already planning your return.
I ordered from Sea Pearl (also listed on Grubhub/Seamless under the name-“TASTE MEDITERRANEAN” ) for my birthday after an absolutely brutal year.
I wanted to treat myself to something warm, luxurious and comforting. The menu sounded perfect. What actually arrived was a complete nightmare!
Since the winter 2025 started unusually early in NYC, I went with their “homemade” mushroom soup 1st, which was advertised as rich and comforting- “Wild mushroom soup with Porcini, Shiitake & White mushrooms served with sour cream. Price-$11.95”
In reality it was inedibly salty – so salty that even adding a lot of sour cream couldn’t save it. The dried mushrooms they brag about were leathery and impossible to chew, floating in a strange slimy broth that turned my stomach.
Next was the bone marrow. This should have been the star of the meal-“Bone Marrow-
Roasted delicacy served with toasted bread and homemade sauce. Price-$24.95”
Instead, the bones were completely dried out with almost NO marrow inside. The tiny bit of marrow I could scrape out was, again, insanely salty. It came with rock-hard, burnt black toast that was so stale I nearly chipped a tooth trying to bite into it.
For the main course I ordered the lobster polenta with “seafood sauce.” The menu promised comfort and luxury-“Lobster Polenta
$25.95
Loster meat with seafood sauce & truffle”
What I got was a bowl of over-salted pinkish cream with no seafood or truffles flavor at all! There were a few tiny, tough, rubbery pieces of lobster that were
IMPOSSIBLE to chew. No balance, no flavor – just salt.
AND THEN CAME THE WORST PART!!!
As I was unpacking the delivery bag, a HUGE LARGE LIVE COCKROACH crawled out of the restaurant’s branded paper bag and ran into my kitchen. I was shocked, mortified but still managed yo take a picture (attached) but I failed to catch and destroy the disgusting, bacteria ridden insect and now I’m extremely worried about an infestation in my apartment, paying large sums for professional extermination services on top of having to throw away a very expensive, inedible meal and spending HOURS sanitizing and cleaning my kitchen instead of enjoying allegedly “luxurious” BIRTHDAY dinner!
For the prices they charge, this is beyond unacceptable. The food was disgusting and basically uneatable, and the presence of a LIVE ROACH in the delivery bag is a SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD!!!
This is not a “minor issue” – this is the kind of thing that should get the attention of the NYC HEALTH & SANITATION DEPARTMENT ASAP!!!
Shame on this restaurant for serving such low-quality food and for such filthy conditions that a cockroach can come out of a customer’s delivery bag.
⚠️If you care about your health – and if you don’t want roaches introduced into your home – do not order from this place‼️☠️
I went to this restaurant yesterday 02/14/2026 around 7/8pm Valentine’s Day.
I thought going to this restaurant would have been great for a beautiful experience with my loved one. As I walked through entrance, the host who was a young white lady immediately looked at me in disgust and shouted THERE ARE NO TABLES!
Very hostile tone and manner!
She did not give a greeting, saying good evening/night, can I assist you or anything. She did Not even ask, whether I had a reservation instead she looked and shouted THERE ARE NO TABLES! Immediately I felt uncomfortable. My partner asked another employee who said yes there are several tables available and asked if we would like to be seated. At that point I appreciated that, however because of the lady’s nasty behavior I decided to leave! She was not welcoming and so it was not worth spending my money there. She ruined what was supposed to be a lovely moment & dinner just by her approach.
I faced discrimination and she came off very Racist and Rude! Let’s not forget she lied and said there wasn’t any tables available only for her co worker to say that’s not true.
I Do Not Recommend!
Sea Pearl is stylish and elegant with a distinctly modern Mediterranean vibe. The interior is beautifully designed—think crisp white linens, artful lighting, and plush seating. Whether you dine inside or out on the cozy terrace, it feels like a sleek lounge as much as a top-tier restaurant. Some evenings even feature live entertainment, adding to the vibrant yet refined atmosphere.
However, the drink we ordered was way too strong. We returned it and ordered another one. We still were charged for that drink. There is gratuity which is separate from tips, and some other charges that added significantly to the total.
Didn’t feel like making a fuss over it. We had a great time overall and enjoyed it! Definitely worth visiting
