We had the best dinner at Sea Level NBPT! They’re the best spot in the area. All of our dishes were delicious and the service was great.
We got the fried pickles and duck confit flatbread (special) for appetizers. Both were excellent. We all loved our dinner choices- lobster ravioli, truffle steak frites, baked haddock and fried chicken sandwich.
The managers, Toby and Myles were very kind and checked in with us during our meal. It made it extra special. We have had Erin and Matt as servers and both were very attentive and kind.
The food, service and atmosphere all surpassed expectations, as usual. Thank you Sea Level for a wonderful experience.

The food was great, decently budget friendly if you are traveling, and the lobster rolls are fantastic. Very interesting combo of western seafood and oriental dishes like sushi.
Calamari was amazing as well, lobster roll well balanced and buttered, and the sushi was amazing. The food was also very fresh.
Would highly recommend you go if you visit Maine.

We stopped by on Sunday just past 7PM. The wait time for seats outside on the terrace facing the park side was 20+ minutes. We decided to seat on the bar while waiting for a table. Ordered couple IPA beers. The bill was $20 for not so big 2 glasses of beer. Table was ready in about 30 minutes. Food choices were plenty, however there were some items not available for the day. Appetizers arrived quickly and were delicious. Main course meals were also great tasting and portions size were good. Tables and chairs were not matching the price list though. They felt uncomfortable and table were crammed to fit more, but when people were getting sited on the table behind they bumped into us. We ended up spending about $40 per person.

This restaurant has some of the kindest staff. They are always so great with my kids and just incredibly accommodating. The menu is vast with a seafood focus but plenty of options for anyone. Great drinks and obviously great location too. On the pricier side but I think the cost matches what you get for food and location. This is always a safe spot for us to bring guests!

We try to make it back to Newburyport every year, and our favorite restaurant is always Sea Level. When you visit more than once, the staff recognizes you and greets you like an old friend. The service is consistently warm and friendly, and the food never disappoints. On our most recent trip, we tried a special sushi roll that was absolutely to die for, topped with baked scallops and crab, pure perfection. The lobster-stuffed ravioli was also fantastic. We can’t wait to come back!

We didn’t have reservations, but called Sea Level in Newburyport, to see how busy they were this Valentine’s Day. Busy, but not booked out, we decided to take a chance and were able to get a 2 top very quickly. Our waiter was Dominic. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable with the menu. We got a 1/2 dozen oysters and Dominic recommended we try 2 of each kind. They told us the names and locations/2 were local to Maine, and one was from RI. We loved all of them. We also try the tuna poke with mango salsa, avocado, and sticky rice. It was on the specials list, but I’d get it every time if it was available. Then, for dinner, my wife got the lobster raviolis which had multiple lobster claws spread over the dish with a truffle butter crumb. Dominic said it was one of the most popular dishes, and I can see why. My wife was kind enough (getting too full) to share one of the raviolis and a claw. It actually made my eyes roll, it was so good. I got the frute de mar (valentines day special) which was packed with all types of fresh fish and shell fish. Also came with squid ink pasta which tasted fresh and homemade. Ended the evening with a couple dirty martinis to cap off a memorable Valentine’s Day. All around great experience and we will be back. I’m sure there are other great wait staff there, but I’ll be requesting Dominic every time we go. Thank you for making our night special!

We’ve been here twice now and both times the food was excellent. The first time we ate a meal here was for an early dinner on a quiet day during the week. It was super nice outside and we asked to sit out back. They have two outdoor seating areas, one out front and one in the back overlooking the water. The view was lovely. The place wasn’t packed and we didn’t have to wait for anything.
Anyway, this place has a massive menu. Besides the regular menu, they have a whole specials menu each day. (See pics for menu.) We ordered fried calamari Italian style and they were so fresh and delicious. You get used to places over frying calamari, so that was a huge winner. For the main course, I ordered the specials blackberry bbq sauce baby back ribs. They were so good! They served them with yucca fries, which I love. I wish it was a regular menu item. My husband had the haddock with crab cake crust on potatoes. It was delicious. I loved it so much, the next time we visited, that’s what I ordered. During our first visit, we kept seeing these beautiful sushi dishes delivered to other tables, so we got some of that the next visit. It was good too. My kids had the chicken skewers that came with an island sauce and the baked scallops. The chicken was tasty and not overcooked. And the scallops were baked perfectly and still tender. Overall, we were really happy with all the dishes served to us both times.
The people that work here are all super nice, and the service was excellent both visits. Prices are on the higher side and portions aren’t super large. Be sure to ask for market prices if that’s something you’re concerned about. The restaurant is noisy. I don’t know why that is, but even without being packed, it was. The place is kid friendly and they do have a menu specifically tailored to them. We parked in the lot next door and walked behind the restaurant. They charge during the day, but it’s not much. Otherwise you can find parking on the street if it’s not a busy day.
I see there are a few mixed reviews on here, but I would confidently suggest you visit this place and try them out for yourself.

Everything about our visit was refreshing and absolutely amazing. The food was super tasty — full of flavor and made just right. The atmosphere was perfect, and we felt so comfortable and welcomed from the moment we walked in. Huge shoutout to our server, Taylor — funny, personable, and such a joy to have at our table. They really made our first experience unforgettable. We’re definitely coming back — we love it here already!

Perfect lunch spot when visiting historic downtown Newburyport. Plenty of outside seating, ice water out for doggies, delicious overstuffed fresh lobster roll worth it @ MP $40, comes with house made potato chips and Cole slaw. Stroll the brick lined streets afterwards and don’t miss the riverfront walk with lots of boats and great people watching. Worth a day trip from Boston, or drop in on your way home from Maine.

First time personally ordering from here. Both my partner and friend had come here not too long ago. I ordered a fisherman platter, but what I thought was a “fisherman platter” was a joke. I paid $40+ for some type of “combo” that came with 3 over cooked shrimp, 1 PIECE OF FISH, and whole 1/2 servings of fries and onion ring. I waited for a drink , one Bloody Mary, waited 15 min for someone to even bring a menu. I have never seen such a messy “top quality” restaurant. The employees could not even tell me what is in a specific dish. The manager had to come sort out multiple issues. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone trying to enjoy some fresh seafood. Instead, the manager offered “to get some scallops”, to eat with a cold plate of fries and 3 shrimp and 1 piece of fish? Soggy fries and onion rings, disgusting joke. I couldn’t even get back the right change.
In addition, I just called the store, and they told me in fact it comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, etc.
This all happened in a matter of 1 hour, what a damn joke. Rip off of money, terrible customer service and incompetent employees.
What’s worst is, it’s father day, and instead of a nice dinner I got some terrible customer service. I hope this over priced place, can do better. Worst seafood place I personally have gone to here in newbury port.
