We had dinner as a family tonight and it turned out the restaurant was rolling out their new winter menu. There were some fantastic new items on the menu.
I got the new vegan pasta, wife got the new bbq brisket burger with a home made sauce and the oldest kid got their salmon Lockes flatbread. The younger kids got their usual but the fish and chips still looked amazing!

The staff was amazing but beware the Mac n Cheese is very very salty and definitely enough for two. I am a Mac and Cheese lover and you will usually never hear me complain about cheese but there was simply way too much thick cheese and definitely not enough crab! Make it creamier not so thick and salty and you have a hit.

Excellent food and excellent service! I was at this hotel overnight for a work trip and chose to have dinner there instead of going to my “usual” place in Newport. I am so happy I did. The server assisted in getting a modification to the way the fish was prepared and everything was cooked to perfection. I started with shrimp cocktail with perfect prawns and tangy cocktail sauce. Entree was amazing.
I returned for breakfast the next morning and again had amazing food and amazing service. I ordered a traditional breakfast after asking about the breakfast potatoes. They served small red potatoes, cut in half, seasoned perfectly and lightly sautéed to be the perfect amount of crispy.
The only thing I would change at this restaurant is the coffee. The brew is not worthy of the amazing food. I’d love to see them partner with a local PNW roaster for something more robust.

It’s a beautiful place and location but the food sucked. The oyster dip came with bbq chips which is weird and they overpowered the dip. The focaccia bread was ok but the roasted garlic butter was hard as a rock and didn’t taste like roasted garlic at all. Staff weren’t friendly. Disappointing.

We don’t often eat at our hotel’s restaurant but Sea Glass was definitely a notch above the usual hotel dining experience. The ambience with beach view and available patio dining with fire pit tables was great, plus we enjoyed room service one evening after a long day of beach coming. The food was just as delicious! Can’t beat the views from this restaurant and from the hotel!

We started our stay at the Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn by having dinner at the onsite restaurant, Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge. Our dinner order was a standard choice of clam chowder, fish & chips and combo louie salad. All were very nicely presented & tasted delicious while we sat enjoying the ocean view. We ordered dessert as well and found it okay. The berry crisp had a heavy, well baked, crunchy oat layer. The cheesecake had a light, whipped texture with an impressive garnish – a clear (like glass) bubble sheet sugar piece that was imbedded with a few spots of clear blue. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever had on a dessert. I prefer a more dense cheesecake but that sugar piece was very fun to find on my slice :). However, I don’t think I’d order dessert from there again.
The next morning of our stay we had breakfast at the Sea Glass Bistro. Again, a standard order with an extra side of bacon (3 slices). All was good with the exception of: The bacon was a disappointment for me as it was hard-cooked and dry. (Just the way my husband LOVES it). The potatoes that came with my omelet were nicely roasted and seasoned but sadly ruined when I found the overwhelming, nasty taste of mold in my mouth. I had to expel it from my mouth – not something I’ve ever done in a restaurant, actually spit food out onto my plate. I let our server know that I had a moldy potato and she politely said she’d let the chef know. I would not recommend eating breakfast there. We finished our meal, minus the potatoes, paid our bill, left a generous tip to the server and left.

I am not usually one to eat at restaurant hotels, but this restaurant is great! I ordered the chicken and loved every bite. The fettuccini and pancetta was rich and flavorful. The carrots were not my favorite…too soft and a little bland. Overall, the meal was a hit. My friend had the salmon with risotto and also loved it. I will definitely be returning.

Hard to believe this is a hotel restaurant. We had the halibut which was a huge piece of fish! The dish came to us with the sides being slightly warm yet overcooked, so I’m sure they set under a hot lamp prior to everything being ready. But for the area, it was good with a great view.

We’re locals looking for a nice treat night out, something extra special. Ordered the $44 steak medium and was told it would take 30 minutes when the restaurant was mostly empty. No problem, it’s date night so we ordered the crab dip appetizer to take up the time with a $21 cocktail to share. (At $21 who could afford 2) The dip was lackluster and needed seasoning bad. The steak arrived and our 30 minute medium steak bleed all over the potatoes and was so rare it was blue inside. We sent it back in hopes of getting something edible and a few minutes later it came back blue again. We were offered a free desert to compensate but after hearing the server tell the only other table that their desert would take 30 minutes we decided to pass.
We’d hoped for a nice dinner out on our $100 splurge budget but were left wishing we’d just cooked at home. The cocktail was good but worth $14 at best. Not someplace I’d ever recommend to folks looking for a nice date night dinner out spend your money somewhere that puts effort behind their rediculious pricing.
