This wonderful restaurant is in the heart of Woodmont and is a gem that stands out amount those who love cozy atmospheres and delicious food. Friendly staff await to greet you and serve you a meal you’ll remember. I had Penne lobster and chicken Asiago. A great choice! My wife had a succulent dish made up of fresh Salmon, broccoli and mashed potatoes. Content and more than satisfied we said thank you and fairwell until our next visit. Try it!You’ll like it!

Scribner’s is fabuolous.. wait staff, food and atmosphere.. I have a1x per year trip between Maine and DC and I make sure to time it so that I can stop here.

Great food and service. We ordered baked scallops which were absolutely amazing. Piece of cake for dessert was large enough for two and very good as well. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere of the place was friendly and quiet. We were so impressed that wanted to come back the next day. To our disappointment, they were overbooked and couldn’t accommodate two of us. Took one star out for that. Well, next time we should make reservations, I guess. This place really worth travelling.

The food served was tasty and perfectly cooked. The server was pleasant and helpful. It has on street parking. Once inside there is a large coat room, big waiting area foyer. There are two dinning rooms and a full liquor bar which are spacious. The atmosphere is dimly lit and the decor is dark wood paneling from the early seventies with a few Howard Miller grand-father/mother clocks not working. The client (most of the time) while I was dinning was all mature to seniors.

This has always been our go to place but the past two visits have left us disappointed. The fish and chips were horrible and the waitress looked like she had not showered in a week. I literally did not want her within 5 feet of anything I was going to eat. It sounds mean but if you are going to work at a restaurant, personal hygiene is important.
We may give it one more try since we have had so many good meals in the past but it has been such a let down lately.

If I could award this place negative stars, I would. I phoned in an order based on the online menu and the great ratings. I arrived there and my order was close to ready.
I inspected my order when it came and noticed that that the Scribner’s Clam Chowder looked like Italian Wedding Soup. The waitress commented first that they did not have Clam Chowder then she said that it was clear Chowder.
It got better from there. Besides the chowder, I ordered Clams Casino, Scallops Risotto and a Saldana with four grilled shrimp. My bill came to $59.60. I paid the bill thinking that the total seemed a bit high according to my mental calculations.
I went back to my vehicle and grabbed my phone to access the online menu. I did a line by line comparison and this was the result: The “chowder” online was priced at $3.95, they charged me $8.95. The Scallops Risotto was $3.00 more. The Clams Casino was $.95 more than the online menu and the salad was more as more as well. There was more than a $10 difference between the online menu price and what they charged me.
I talked to the waitress about this and she, as well as other employees responded with comments about how old the online menu was. They claim that the menu had not been changed in two years. Really? You expect a first time call in customer to know what the prices should be? The actually stood there and argued with me about this until the waitress offered to refund my money. I was extremely hungry and had driven out of my way to visit this place but, this was not worth it. I got my money back.
I cannot believe the non apologetic, unprofessional mentality of these people. This was just plain deceptive. Stay away from this place, these people are bad news.

Delicious food, low salt and on healthy side. Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp was warm, comforting and absolutely delicious. Very nice staff and great atmosphere, Julie thank you so much for making our evening joyful!

What brought us to Scribner’s was a fluke. My Garmin sent me to a restaurant that was no longer in business and we were in the mood for seafood. So we ended up at Scribner’s, which was the closest restaurant to where we were. I am glad things worked out the way they did. The service was not just excellent, it was exceptional. The waitress, Diane, was phenomenal. I had my 93 year old dad with us and her attention to his needs was amazing. The food was also exceptional and the house wine selection was excellent. Overall, this was an exceptionally good evening with wonderful food and excellent service!!! I would highly recommend Scribners for an enjoyable dining evening!
