One word… FLAVORFUL! My husband and I tried Scratch Burger for the first time and enjoyed everything we ordered!! I ordered the Scratch Burger with salted fries and my husband ordered the Spicy Burger with seasoned fries. We shared the Carolina loaded fries, which were out of this world! I asked for extra sauce not knowing they already put some in our bag for us and the burger didn’t even need extra sauce! All of the ingredients tasted fresh! I loved the unique sweet flavor of the seasoned fries and the extra pickle flavor in their fry sauce. We will definitely be back, they’re our new favorite burger place!! Great customer service as well!

First time here and it was a great choice. The price was higher than expected, the food was well worth that price. The fresh fries have a mix of spicy and sweet, the buns soft, and the burger patties are thick and juicy. Choose from the menu or build your burger from scratch, either will leave you happy. We recommend the vanilla shake, and it was great to have Stubborn soda tap!

I was a little put off by the price at first, but the food it TOTALLY worth it. The buns are delicious, the meat is tasty, the pickles are a perfect balance of sweetness and spicy, the Scratch Sauce is the best burger and fry sauce I’ve had recently, and the fries have such good seasoning! The seasoning was like the BBQ Pringles dust. The burger was slightly sloppily put together, but it stayed in once piece the entire time, and it didn’t take anything away from the eating experience. My wife got the Hick’ry burger and said the bacon was excellent. The fries were on the soft side, but that just made them easier to dip in the three different sauces. The Scratch Sauce is savory, the hickory sauce is sweet, and the spicy sauce is actually decently spicy but perfect for fries or a burger. Service was friendly and fast. The store interior was clean and comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. There is plenty of parking behind the building. We will definitely be returning to try different burgers next time!

Heard about this place so we tried it out. We ordered a double scratch burger and a simple burger. The burgers were super good. The fries were good but a little too much seasoning. Everything was made from scratch,buns, fries, pickles I mean everything. We’ll be back for more.

The price of the burger was pricy, but they tasted good. For 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 drinks, it was $33.00. We got the hick’ry burger and the scratch burger. They were both really good. I didn’t care much for the spicy sauce. I thought the fries were ok, but my son did not like them. They have sugar in the seasoning, so they are a little sweet. I would buy another burger but not the fries. I liked their drink selections and their machine is cool. The vanilla cream soda was tasty.
The floor of the restaurant was really dirty but the tables were pretty clean.

***Update: went a 3rd time and the food was significantly hands down better. Like. Actually really realt good. I enjoyed my visit minus the part where the trashcans were so overflowing that you couldn’t actually put your food in. It felt like Cafe Rio in a heavy lunch rush. I will keep going back though as it’s clear the product they have can be really good. Also worth noting, pricing fairly decent for the quality too with pricing coming in under 10 bucks without a drink. ,this is great news for since TonyBurger just jacked their prices up 3x the inflation rate, so not paying that kinda silly anymore.

All right let’s start off with the good, staff was polite and service was quick. All right, now we’re are on to the bad. This is my second time here. First go is all around pretty decent, food was fresh, ingredients were decent, all around a solid place, this go around, nah.
The burger was somehow dry, but not really sure how. I asked for the fried jalapenos on it, and paid the 45 cents extra and I got one….? Maybe a half, and one pickle, and maybe a whole bun? It was a bit tattered and rough on the edges, a bit it if “daddy issues” could be personified into food. I got it to go, and even in my short drive, the food was cold already which makes me wonder if it was even super fresh to start with because my last visit it was still hot.
Now the fries, the poor poor fries, as a self-proclaimed connoisseur, these were just bad. Like I would love to give a witty analogy but the word bad just simply captures it perfectly. They were stale, unsalted, and clearly old. These double fried natural cut fries have to be made fresh and cooked right because when they are bad they are Gary Indiana bad. (which is like bad as places get)
All in, I mayyyyyy try again and update my review, but if we go 2 outta 3, I’m writing it off and getting tony burger instead.

I wanted to get excited about this new burger place. I always love a new food place near home. I went in and ordered food to go. It took over 20 minutes to get the order which is fine if it’s all made from scratch. Their website says you won’t have to wait, but you do.
I got the burger as they recommend with no changes. My wife got one with some slight changes. The burgers looked like they had been wrapped by a 7 year old which caused the fixings on the burger to be super lopsided. I had to rebuild it when I got home (3 min drive) The lettuce on the bottom was so greasy and warm that it was stringy and gummy. The burger tasted okay, but nothing to get too excited about.
The fries were the biggest disappointment. They are super soft and taste and feel like they are holding a ton of oil. They could use a twice fried to add some crisp. My wife enjoyed them but she did not like their “fry sauce”. I dumped out the remainder of my fries to show how greasy the container is.
I don’t know if we will be back. It was good food, but could be polished and service could be better. With time, I’m sure they will get it down.
There was no napkins in our to go bag and you will need them as the burger is messy.
Also, it was strange when I walked in and the girl yelled to the others “ONE IN LINE”. It made me feel like a “number”. This is just me knit picking on this one, but hopefully the owner/manager can appreciate some honest criticism.

Need more on the menu items I feel like. This place isn’t too bad but I can tell you the fries were over cooked and too crispy and had to throw half or more out. The burger was pretty good. The bun was small like most have said, so expect a messy burger. It might be awhile before I come back with the prices the way they are and food not the greatest.

Really good burgers! Simply menu and everything tasted fresh. Their fries are a sweet fry which I did not expect but didn’t hate. I’m not sure you could order them another way but overall a great burgers joint and definitely a place I liked more than the larger chain places.

TLDR: Scratch Burger is giving Burley Burger a run for their money. Full stop. Savory burgers, interesting flavor combos as well as the classic ones. The spicy sauce may be a bit too spicy.
The customer service was fantastic. Rowdy was very helpful in explaining each of the options to suit our interests. In the end, I went with the Mushroom Burger. Can’t go wrong with it!
The burger was absolutely delightful! It contains perfected amounts of sweet and savory, on a potato bun so soft that when you bite into it, it’s like biting into a cloud of buttery goodness (cheesy, I know, but not as cheesy as the burger). In all seriousness, I couldn’t pinpoint the source of the sweetness… it may have been the caramelized onions or the bun itself. I’m going to have to come back again to figure it out.
The shakes are interpretations of the beloved classics that we all know and love, there’s an added level of sweet spices, I’m pretty sure I tasted nutmeg or cinnamon. Excellent shakes.
My only concern would be the level of spice in the spicy sauce. There is a tad bit too much of it which kills the flavor.
The General Manager was also polite and caring about our experience, ensuring that the food and service were up to par. If you eat here, I think you might find that both are well above standard.
