Family Owned and Operated since the Fall of 1982, Scranton’s has been serving exceptional cuisine in a unique, casual dining atmosphere. The restaurant makes its home in downtown Pascagoula, Mississippi, in a historic, early 1920’s building that once housed the town’s firehouse and city hall. Today, remnants of the town’s history remain a distinctive part of the dining experience but the main attraction at Scranton’s is the food – there’s our unforgettable Shrimp and Grits or Chicken Alfredo, Crispy Fried Seafood, Firehouse Nachos or Quesadillas, Salads as well as our Grab & Go Market. Came at about 11:30 for lunch. The images and menu on Google looked great and I liked the way it appeared to be an old bar. Just my flavor.
When I walked in though, I was standing in some shabby-chic deli-style room with hobby lobby retro metal chairs and tables. WHOA.
I thought…
I got catfished.
And this time it wasn’t a man.
I could only see one staff member. There was a waitress taking the orders for a table of 5 and I stood in the doorway. There wasn’t a sign that said “seat yourself” or anything so, I was polite and waited. 2-3 minutes went by.
The waitress finished taking their orders and turned and left the room completely.
It was uncool and I almost left but I came all the way here, so I went the direction she went to ask someone if maybe I am actually Bruce Willis and I’m dead and no one can see me.
Through the threshold she went through,
there it was! The place had seen and read about on Google! It existed!
I sat at the bar. A bartender greeted me.
I’m not Bruce Willis and This is not an afterlife bar restaurant for the unalive.
I got the firehouse sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was the best sandwich PERIOD I’ve had in a loooong time. Omg so so so juicy and amazing and the fried jalapeños were sunshine into my cold, dark soul. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly.
So yeah… definitely go and stay armed with this new information so you won’t question your mortality before enjoying the best sandwich of your year.

Overall our experience was just fine.
Pros: Service was good, even though it was pretty busy, they kept the drink refills coming. The mac and cheese is good. The location is good and the building is unique.
Cons: Took about 30ish minutes to get our food out, and it was warm rather than hot and fresh, as though it sat in the window for a bit before being delivered. This would not surprise me as the place seemed understaffed, we only saw one server and 2 food runners or helpers taking care of all orders and refills. The food was not very flavorful or interesting. We had a burger, the chicken quesadillas, and the pork chops and we weren’t really impressed by them.

Scranton’s was a fantastic dining experience, and I’ll definitely be back. I tried a little bit of everything—fried pickles, pork rinds, shrimp Alfredo, shrimp tacos, and chicken tenders—and everything was spot on. The fried pickles were crispy with just the right amount of tang, and the pork rinds had a nice crunch. The shrimp Alfredo was creamy and flavorful, while the shrimp taco had a fresh, well-seasoned kick. Even the chicken tenders were impressive—juicy, crispy, and perfectly cooked.
What really stood out, besides the food, was the atmosphere. The restaurant’s décor is beautiful, with a mix of historic charm and modern touches that make it feel both cozy and stylish. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Great food, great vibe—definitely a spot worth returning to.

Always friendly and with great food.
This is my go-to whenever in in the area. The shrimp and grits are excellent and I highly recommend the firehouse nachos for a table app.
The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and seasonal specials esp their teddy bear of a bartender.
If you’re in the area and haven’t been, I’d definitely give them a try.

Popped in for lunch & what an amazing space!!! Loved all the progression photos framed on the wall, showing the many places it’s been over the last 100+ years. Beautifully restored from a fire station, with a few remains from its previous lives, it provided a really cool location to enjoy a beer at one of the bar stools. Staff was super friendly & we noticed several locals coming in for to-go meals & catering. Will definitely check it outfit dinner when we’re in the area again.

Loved this restaurant located in a historic building. I was lucky to get a detailed history tour of the building while I was there. They still have the old jail cells located across from the restrooms. Used to be courthouse, clerks office and fire station now converted into restaurant and bar. I had the blackened shrimp and gumbo for lunch which was really great. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you for making us feel welcome at your restaurant.

My first time at Scranton’s today was a fantastic experience! I visited the market side of the restaurant (left in the picture), but there is also a historical bar side (right). The environment was very unique, casual, and almost relaxing. The service was great. Being my first time, one of the employees showed me around, and another offered recommendations off of the menu. I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries, and I can easily say that it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had, if not the best. I loved the fries too, and the sweet tea was a little unique but great. I would definitely put Scranton’s in my list of favorite restaurants and I look forward to going back!

This is a small restaurant in an old firehouse. The food is good, the people are nice, and their chef was awesome. If you are looking for a smaller and locally owned establishment, this is a great place to start. I had their fish special, and it was fantastic.

Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Scranton’s was like walking back into history. Lot’s of interesting memorabilia on the walls. Very antique feel. Heather B was our waitress and she was very friendly and took great care of us. My dish was fabulous and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back again.
