Stopped by Scotty’s Drive In while in Idaho Falls and tried the steak bites, since I was told they’re an Idaho specialty. They were very unique and definitely something different than your typical drive in food. Overall, it was a fun local spot to check out and worth stopping at if you want to try something regional.

This place is a great place to stop for a bite to eat. It’s a little pricey but it it was really good it’s got a really old school feel that I love. The burgers were cooked to perfection as well as the fries. I’ve been here in the park and got milkshakes that were really good too. The drive in part is more for parking, you don’t order or receive your food there, you have to go in but it does give you I nice place to sit in your car and eat or pick one of their picnicking benches sitting there to eat. Overall it’s one of the better burger places in town.

My friends have told me about Scotty’s and how it’s one of the favorite restaurants in Idaho Falls. Well, I decided to finally try it. Let me just say: I should’ve tried it out a lot longer ago!

My wife and I decided to play it simple our first visit and get just a double cheeseburger, fries, cheese curds, and a drink.

The food
The cheeseburger tasted absolutely delicious and reminded me of a McDonald’s double cheeseburger but better. The patties tasted fresh, same with the topping, such as the pickles and lettuce and tomato. The fries were pretty good. They reminded me a lot of five guy fries as it tastes like they cut the potatoes themselves. And then lastly, the star of the show was the cheese curds. These have been the best cheese curds I’ve ever tasted in my life. They tasted homemade. As soon as you would put a cheese curd in your mouth, it instantly starts to melt and it taste absolutely delicious.

The atmosphere
As soon as my wife and I walked into this restaurant, we both turned to each other and knew that it was gonna be a good restaurant based off the looks and the smell. It is a 60 year old restaurant and it has that very vintage, loving charm.

Service
I thought the service here was absolutely outstanding. With it being our first time here we had asked the guy at the register what some of his favorite things are and what different items are. He was absolutely helpful. I was unable to get his name, but he was such a great employee.

Overall, if you have not been here and you’re looking to try a local place I definitely say give this a shot. They have a lot to offer with burgers and sandwiches, a lot of sides, and milkshakes (which I haven’t tried yet). They have benches just outside where you’re able to sit and enjoy your meal. Another great note is they serve both Pepsi and Coke products which I think is an absolute win and wish more businesses would do this

We stayed a night in Idaho Falls over the summer and after doing restaurant research, Scotty’s was the one place that caught my eye so I decided to come by.

Came on a Saturday at around 6:30 PM and they weren’t very busy. The lady who took my order was very nice.

I got a double cheeseburger with a side of fries as my meal (with ketchup and ranch on the side). Overall, everything was fantastic! The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, and flavorful, and the fresh cut fries were fried to perfection and seasoned well.

Overall, a classic historic drive-in in Idaho Falls. If you’re in town, it’s definitely worth a stop! I’ll be back.

Their burgers are really good!!! Can’t go wrong there.
Fries and tots good too. Their cheese curds however are not good – the fryer is for sure too hot and they were all hollow so we don’t recommend those! 1 star knocked off for those.

Food was good, Ordered 6 different value meals all were good. Huckleberry Mountain Dew was good too. The only issues we had was there is no public restroom there or nearby

Great oldschool concept of a burger joint. Ordered a triple cheeseburger fries and concrete type shake. Burger was the best part very tasty meat with very good cheese was alittle greasy but as expected though. Fries were fresh and hot. Conrete shake was okay probably wouldnt order again had a strange taste which seemed to be the base of concrete something with the vanilla. Would come back for the burgers and fries.

I’d go far as to say the food was barely not bad. Ordered a Bacon Scott with tots and an oreo shake, and each component was pretty mediocre. Apparently there’s no discount for getting a shake with a combo instead of on it’s own, it was $17 in total. Glad to support somewhere local but still.

We were on a family road trip and driving thru town when we saw a couple camels out front, yes they were real camels, the wife said “We need to stop!!” so with a 38′ fifth wheel in tow we did a “Right turn Clyde”. Once we got over the realization of what we saw, and got photos we decided to give the place shot. Wow, this place is amazing. The burgers were fantastic, and without a doubt, the best fries I have ever had, sorry 5 Guys. Topped it off with a delicious milkshake. So glad we saw the camels otherwise we probably would have never noticed this gem.
