From the crinkle-cut fries and juicy burger to the chili cheese fries that hit just right, everything was fresh and delicious. The inside feels like a time capsule — classic red booths, checkered floors, old photos and Route 66 memorabilia lining the walls. And the cherry on top? They played 80s rock the whole time we were there — it just fit.
The guy at the counter was so sweet and welcoming, and the prices were super reasonable. Honestly, this place deserves way more business than it looked like it was getting.
If you’re passing through or live nearby, stop in. Good food, great service, and that cozy, old-school energy that’s getting harder to find.
You can expect to wait several minutes more than you would at McDonalds, but I assure you it is worth the wait!
First point, yes I read the reviews and the replies from the owner. I anticipated a long wait, so I have no complaint on the time frame.
Second point, no the employees are certainly not friendly, much less overly so, however that also is not a complaint. I’d prefer they didn’t stand and chat at each vehicle upon delivery of food, because that only delays every other order further. So, that also is not an issue for me.
Finally, however, is the quality of food. As a classically trained private chef, I am probably more critical of food than the average consumer. There is no excuse for the food we received. We ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich basket. It says “mayo”, that was definitely NOT mayonnaise on the sandwich. It was Miracle Whip or a version of. The steak was about 1/8-1/4″ thick and fried to a burnt crisp (see photos). The fries were horrible, no salt at all when they come from the fryer, which is when they should be seasoned. Served on toast.
This was a $10.00 meal with tip.
I could have sworn that last time I was here the CFS sandwich wasn’t made with this type of bread. I could be mistaken, but the sandwich wasn’t bad!
The fries were good & the DP was just alright. Tasted like the carbonation was off or too much syrup.
