We decided to have a cocktail and early appetizer at Scotch Lodge before heading to a late reservation at a highly reviewed, James Beard-winning chef’s tasting around the corner… our food and experience at Scotch Lodge surpassed our “fancy” dinner by leaps and bounds! The ambiance was akin to some of the more bespoke bars we have explored in NYC, the food was incredible, cocktails inventive, and service top-notch. We ordered the seasonal Apricot dish and the toast with whipped lard. Both were outstanding. Each bite was surprising and well balanced. We are already counting down the days until we are back in Portland and can visit this special establishment again.

5/5, we had a phenomenal time at the Scotch Lodge. I’ve been to many whiskey bars across the US and this is easily one of my favorites. The bartenders were knowledgeable and unpretentious which is such a nice experience. The selection was large, of course, but I was floored by the overall fair prices. Whiskey can be expensive, but there’s a difference between fair and expensive and ridiculously overpriced. Scotch Lodge hit the sweet spot. The food we ordered was also delicious, I was not expecting the pickle fries to be so great. Would make a trip to Portland specifically to return.

Scotch Lodge, you have my heart <3 Loved the hidden intimate bar space. Great selection of whiskeys. Came to Portland for only 2 nights and thank god we came here the first night, because we had such a good time we came back the next night as well. Staff were amazing and remembered us. So knowledgeable, talented, and friendly. The cocktail menu had so many drinks that got me and my friend excited, can't wait to return and try the rest.

Went with my wife for date night. Bar has a cool speak easy feel. You could walk past it on the street, but once your down in the basement bar, you’ll be glad you didn’t! Selection of spirits is great, food is tasty – more sharing and nibbling than full on entres, cocktails are creative and fun. Has a focus on Scotch, but has plenty of other spirit based cocktails and spirits on hand for the non-scotch drinkers.

Scotch Lodge has been on my list for some time. We finally got to go and it did not disappoint. We ordered their fried brie, radicchio salad, and pickle spiced fries. Each was excellent. Of course, you don’t visit Scotch Lodge just for food … the Scotch selection is extensive. But, what really sets the bar program apart is the focus on Scotch based cocktails. We had several, including their Gathering Storm and Islay Daiquiri. We enjoyed all of them. Can’t wait to get back to try a couple more.

We came here for a late night date after a Blazers game. We managed to make it in before the dinner menu service shut down. We had lovely cocktails and the scallop tartare from the dinner menu plus oysters and pickle fries. It was all good and prices seemed more than reasonable for the creativity and level of quality.
