Brisket was amazing; loved the burnt edges! Mac & Cheese was edible, but not worth the calories and wouldn’t order it again. Corn muffin was moist, perfectly sweetened and just the right size. Would definitely go back, and would try a different side.

We’ve read some of the reviews and honestly, be a smart diner and you will be quite happy. We ordered the 2 specials on this visit: a brisket Philly cheeses teak and the smoked meatloaf. Both excellent as were some of the best collard greens. The mac n cheese is decent but nothing to write home about. Try the onion rings inatead.

Went around 3 in the afternoon. Got the Texas trio. The pulled pork was vinegary and needed bbq sauce to balance it out 5/10. The ribs were overcooked and the bark on some pieces were hard an inedible, looked like they were smoked in quarters and not cut from a rack 2/10 . The two pieces of brisket were 50 percent fat but tasted decent 2/10 for the fat ratio, 7/10 for taste. I got it with mashed potatoes 6/10 and potato salad 4/10. The cornbread was dry and hard 2/10.

They Didn’t have the half chicken in stock, which we came an hour away for. Muffins were pretty dry. The Cole slaw for the sandwich was about one bites worth. Bun was too big for the amount of meat they put on it. nothing special. smoked wings were okay. Fried pickles and mashed potatoes were decent. had pretty high expectations after the good reviews but didn’t have anything super tasty. The prices on website are pretty off from the actual price.

BBQ ribs and brisket is great, lots of fun sides, service is counter but attentive. Would’ve preferred to sauce the burnt ends myself as the sauce was very thick and sweet. Would be great for takeout.

I have eaten at a lot of bbq places in North Carolina and we just moved to the area and stopped in on 1/16/26 to have lunch, family got the pork sandwich and said it was really good. I had the half ribs and let me tell you they are some of the best ribs I have ever had. You have to try the ribs.

A little awkward for first timers. There is a huge menu board, but it’s got SOOO many choices on it! BBQ, obviously. Note : it’s pulled and thick. My husband and I much prefer minced bbq pork. I probably could have asked for it to be chopped, but I was just so overwhelmed and holding up the line trying to decide I just forgot that. It had a great smoky flavor. Very generously sized. I ordered 2 BBQs and a surprise flounder sandwich for the hubs. We were both impressed with the flounder. I’d say the prices were a little high, but it’s a nice restaurant and not exactly in the city where deliveries are easy. Cole slaw with the bbq was a little on the chunky side but great flavor. Hush puppies were very good, made with whole kernels of corn. As for the restaurant itself, very cozy once you order and get seated. Very nice (‘one-seater’) ladies room. Can’t speak of the men’s room, but I’m certain it’s nice too. The ordering was straightforward and the girls working the registers were very kind and patient with me !
My overall impression?
A + and don’t miss it!

Best brisket I have eaten since I left Texas, they do Virginia proud! Brisket was tender and well marbled, and it would have been a sin to put sauce on it; just the way brisket should be. Clean, family friendly atmosphere, friendly service, and good portions to feed my large family.
