Went there for the French dip-not available, ask for Beef Brisket-not available. Ended up having a hamburger. Good hamburger. Service was ok. Bartendere was taking to 4 regular and playing videi games than getting me a water. 15 minutes sat and suc=ked on a empty straw and tapping my empty root beer can.

This place is split in two sections. One half is dive bar and the other small town dinner. If you aren’t looking for anything fancy but want a good meal this is the spot. The main entrance is a bit dumpy as this is the smoking patio and you have to walk past dirty ash tray’s on the way in. You walk into the old section of the bar and it is small and tight quarters, but you walk around the bar to get to the dining side with more seating. The menu is mainly burgers, sandwich and apps, but they also have broasted chicken. The sandwiches and chicken are good, but the burgers are the star. They are the best burgers in the Forest Lake area! Large burgers that are not overcooked and have a good bun to burger ratio. The accompanying fries, tots and onion rings are very good as well.

So I am not one to like takeout, it just never tastes the same vs being sitting in a restaurant… Lemme tell you! This was fantastic!! It was warm, cooked just right, and tasted excellent. You could definitely save some $ and split a burger with someone, they’re huge!! I had never been here before, I’m glad I stopped by.

We moved up into the area 2 years ago and claim this as our local hangout. Burgers are massive, drinks are stiff and fast, bartenders are always working the room. We even order takeout while out on the boat and walk up to grab from Green Lake. If you are going to take friends out in the area – this is always our 1st choice.

Got robbed over mushrooms and onions.
The menu says a bacon cheeseburger costs 13.95$. so I’m like wow. Being a low income disabled person. I thought I could afford one restaurant meal. For me and my disabled friend.
I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers. With only onions and mushrooms for toppings. Simple request. The total should have been 27.90$ plus tax I guess.
But the total came to 38.50.. before the tip.
This means we were charged over ten dollars. I guess to substitute the normal toppings. For just onions and mushrooms.
I even left a ten dollar tip. Because I’m sure the waitress needs the money more than two poor disabled people.
The burger was big. But the bun was not appropriately sized for the large burger. Making it a mess.
Bad business.
I had a water to drink. And my friends mountain dew. Was paid for right away when we got their. Before I ordered and paid for the burgers in their own transaction. At the bar. Did not run a tab. And even if the mountain dew was on the food bill. Over ten bucks for one cup of mountain dew. No refills?
So I guess I was charged 1.50 $ extra per burger. To have less topping on my burger than it comes with. And I was never told this. I just get a bill. And surprise!
