Super clean restaurant. The food was very good, we had the ribs and brisket. The coleslaw, Mac and cheese and fried okra were good as well. I really liked the Cole slaw it hand cranberries in it!
The staff was cheerful and attentive. They kept checking on us and live music tonight. Win!

Okay so for Gallup this place was great. I was excited when we got a Dickey’s BBQ but Dickey’s sucks everytime. It’s dry and over cooked. Sooo my expectations for another BBQ joint in Gallup were high. Parking is cool, you get a glimpse of the air port. We walked in to open table seating. No wait. You order at the register. Everything comes by itself. The Spare Ribs were pretty juicy and tender. Almost fall of the bone but not quite. The pulled pork was juicy but not much flavor in the bark. Coleslaw is a little on the sweet side with pineapple tidbits but I don’t mind that at all. The Bbq bake beans are delicious. They actually taste like beans not overly sauced like other ones with bits of meat chunks in it. Love that for them. The chocolate pudding was also great. Service could have been more. But overall big tv screens and meat. What else does a girl need for game day? 8/10⭐️

The food was ok. Sausage was dry and overcooked, the rice was overcooked. The Brisket Sandwich was ok but average. The cream corn was pretty good, IMO. I will go back however to try other menu items and add to this review.
As a disclaimer, I am originally from a small Texas cattle town. My expectations for bbq are high. There is a song written about it from a band called Roosevelt Road, song is Dalhart. That explains my feelings about bbq.
I hope the next time I go that the food will be better. It is a nice change for the Gallup food scene though.

We had the brisket and it was delicious. Imagine this with some yummy fries and what…creamed corn (super fabulous)!! It was so good-the owner Seymour and his family were on hand to make a great experience even more fabulous!!

My husband and I visited Scooters BBQ, Tuesday evening, for dinner. (1/27/26) I’m rather particular about my BBQ, especially my brisket!! We ordered brisket, baby back ribs, bbq beans, okra and chips. The brisket was tender, buttery, and passes the “bend” test. The bark was beautifully dark, lacking that distinctive crunch, and had a little smoke ring.
The baby back ribs were a perfect smoky, moist, pull off the bone tender. They had a rich dark bark and caramelized glaze. Ribs usually aren’t my favorite because they’re a bit tough, however, these were delectable and succulent.
The bbq beans were rather bland and firm, they didn’t have that luxurious bbq flavor and buttery texture I prefer. They were still edible.
The fried okra is just a generic frozen, pre breaded version. It would be better if they were lightly salted before serving.
The chips were fried to a golden crisp perfection.
Overall, I personally think Scooters has done a fantabulous job at serving the best BBQ around. It’s better than Rudy’s!!
The staff is pleasant and friendly. They come by just enough to not be bothersome, but enough to take care of you.
We’ll definitely be making more lunch or dinner dates here.

Our first time here and we had an excellent experience. Food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Live music was awesome.
A little busy on a Saturday evening; had a short wait in line. Service was great, got our food while at the counter except for our fries, which was brought out to us shortly after sitting down.
Brisket was tender, juicy and flavorful. Mac & cheese, bbq beans and homemade fries were delicious!
Staff kept checking on us throughout; it was very much appreciated.
Enjoyed the great food and hospitality! Will definitely be coming back. Thanks Scooter’s BBQ for a wonderful meal and experience!

Honestly the restaurant is nice. Staff are unfriendly. Don’t see what all the hype was about. Food costs you an arm and a leg. I’ll stick to cooking bbq homemade…at home.
