Not the best, not the worst.
Pizza crust was very dense and bland. Sauce was applied sparingly.
Garlic Loaf was also alright. Heavy on the garlic. Did not come with a dipping sauce.

Great little ice cream and pizza shop. Donna was super friendly and helpful. The ice cream tastes great and HUGE portions. The breadsticks are excellent. Chicken Alfredo pasta was great as well! Egg and cheese pizza was delicious, the breakfast pizza was good but lacking eggs and cheese, make sure to have them put those on that pizza.

I hadn’t been in for a few years, but when I came into town for the Christmas parade I knew I had to stop in for their amazing deep dish. It was even better than I remembered. The crust, the sauce, the bacon, everything hits the way it’s supposed to. Worth the stop every time I’m back in the area.

Our first time trying Backdoor Deli and it surely won’t be our last! Definitely add this to your list of places to frequent.
We got the breadsticks, delicious, soft buttery and filling. The order is huge! So don’t let the price possibly discourage you!
We also got the Steak Combo pizza. OMG. we didn’t go into this AMAZING pizza with high expectations since we didn’t know the heights this pie would reach into Flavortown USA! The merging of amazing white sauce, with the flavors and tenderness of the steak, send you into an uncontrollable urge to devour piece after piece and ask for more! We were beyond glad we tried it and already my wife and I agree we will be back for more.
The prices were worth the quality. The food you can tell has been prepared with love and appreciation for the community in which it resides.
Location was slightly confusing to find, initially overthinking the name might have it be a “top secret location” I digress. Now that we know where to find them, it should not be any type of issue in the future!
Backdoor Deli, keep doing what you are doing! The quality shows you care. My wife said you definitely have been moved to the top of our list for our “go to pizza” place, going forward.

Edit: We’ve now gone a second time today 6/29/2024 and the experience was again amazing! This place continues to amaze! We had the same steak combo pizza that continues to surprise and amaze with the flavors!
Also the gyro! We didn’t see it the first time almost hidden in the design of the menu. Absolutely fantastic! Really tasty lamb, and tzatziki sauce was refreshing and tasty!
Update 8/2024: We finally had a chance to have the subs here, I had the Philly and my wife had the country fried steak sandwich and OMG! The bread on both of these sandwiches were so light and airy and tasty! When I tell you on my Philly, I’m not sure I came up for air the entire time eating it! Beyond. Delicious. My wife raved also over the country fried steak, flavorful and tender, bread was also light, airy and tasty! Subs are also on the list from this amazing business! There motto, “one bite and we gotcha” couldn’t be anything further from the truth! ♥️♥️♥️

I pretty much order the same thing… The mostaccioli, it is to die for. Very very yummy meat sauce. I order for delivery and my order comes in a very timely manner and is always hot. I would recommend back door deli AKA scoops and slices to any one. The food is delicious in the service is excellent.

As a long-time customer of Back Door Deli, now Scoops and Slices, I can assure you that nothing has changed in terms of quality or service over the past 33 years. The new name and ownership haven’t affected the subs or any other menu items. The same staff has been there, and if you ever have an issue, they are always more than willing to fix it if you let them know. I’ve always recommended them, and they have the best pizza in Gladwin—the Deep Dish is really yummy. Also, try out the Breakfast Pizza; it’s Fantastic! The ownership change happened only because sometimes ownership has to change as people get older.
