We’ve been going here off and on for 14 years, and the experience just keeps getting better. We visited the last two weekends and were reminded why we love this place so much. The food and drinks are consistently excellent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and when they have a band, it makes the night even more fun.
The new ownership is doing an amazing job—everything feels fresh while still keeping the charm we’ve always appreciated. The service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

My wife and I got to Scipio’s a little early and were allowed to come on in. The staff were a hoot, and the clientele made it even better. My wife and I rarely banter with other patrons, but we instantly felt like we’d been coming here for years.
The food was fantastic. I ordered the 12oz ribeye, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I literally waddled out of the restaurant . My wife got the salmon dinner, and was tickled with the flavor, and the amount she got. We are both ready to return.

Great service, food, and atmosphere! Chicken fried steak and sweet potato fries were some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Hamburgers were decent as well. Located right along the Prairie Spirit Trail, fun place to stop for a bite to eat!

Nice little small restaurant, was in town for work here and stopped by, it’s been our favorite spots to eat in the area. Had the sirloin and shrimp, with a salad and baked potato, all was well. Cheese curd appetizer was also good. Will be back

I was riding my bicycle down the Prairie Spirit Trail a few days ago when I noticed a sign at a road crossing for the Scipio Supper Club. Since I was on a two day out & back trip and needed dinner, I decided to Google them and was surprised to see the number of positive reviews (because it’s literally out in the middle of nowhere, miles from town) I was the first customer of the evening, sat at the bar and was welcomed by the staff and owner. The regulars started arriving and they were friendly and chatty, because I was clearly new there and was still wearing bicycle looking clothing. The owner told me about some of their scratch made food and I decided on a steak, potato wedges grilled in olive oil and their steak seasoning and a house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. My ribeye steak came just how I ordered it and was seasoned nicely….no steak sauce required because it was seasoned right. So glad I saw that sign and decided to check this place out. And to think I was just going to find a burger somewhere!

We decided to try for dinner. Arrived at 6:20pm. Was offered 1 drink each. Never saw our waitress after she delivered drinks and took our food order. Another lady came by, maybe an hour later with salads, that were horrible!!!! Still no offers for refills of our drinks. By 7:45pm no sign of our waitress or our food so we went up to the bar to request to just pay for the 2 drinks and awful side salads we were served so we can leave and try to eat somewhere else while we still had time. They assured us our food would be out in just a couple minutes. About 10 minutes later another lady brought out ONLY our meats, as our potatoes had not yet even been cooked she said she could microwave a baked potato real quick, no thanks!! One cut into my husbands steak it was not properly cooked and my grilled chicken was RAW!!!! So we left cash at the table and left without eating anything. Would not recommend anyone going there unless you want food poisoning and poor service. Only one that was working hard in whole place was the bar tender, guess its just a bar not a place to eat!!!
