Schuberg’s is our greatest find as far as restaurants go. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such consistency in awesomeness from any other restaurant.
Never have we experienced burgers that taste like they are literally homemade (better than homemade!) EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Like they just came off dad’s grill. The flame broil on them is unmatched. You can taste the flame. My only critique of the mushroom burger I could give is that it wasn’t as heavy on the mushrooms as I would have liked to’ve seen but still delicious.
The steak fries, also unmatched. The Server had our drinks filled each time without us asking, they have the best fried pickles we have ever had (and we get fried pickles everywhere to try to find the best) their onion rings are also perfection. Perfectly crispy and onions stay within the crust for the most part, (unlike many other places where the onion string comes all the way out of the ring.)
We have been there about five times now, and it has been a great experience each and every time.
If I had to make any suggestion, it would be to get the creamier, less translucent type of homemade ranch dressing.
But I can’t think of anything else that would make the experience any more enjoyable.

They have an option for you to buy a round of drinks for the cooks if you appreciate their cooking, which we certainly did last time, we were there a few days ago. They deserve it very much.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! They have an amazing selection of burgers! If burgers aren’t your thing, they have that too! Nestled in downtown Big Rapids, this bar is a great spot to enjoy a cold beverage and delicious food.

Our visit today we got an olive burger with deep fried mushrooms and a bulldog shu substitute veggie pattie.
We snuck in and found a table tonight close to the door. We were greeted and our drink order was taken. Our sever was cheerful and friendly. We were a little poky placing our order but she was patient with us.
Our food was brought out as ordered and to perfection! The deep fried mush were so crispy, and you can’t go wrong with a juicy olive burger in Michigan! The Bulldog Schu sub veggie pattie did not disappoint! The jalapeños and crispy onions made the sandwich pop with flavor!

It’s a great stop every time I’m in Big Rapids.
I had old faithful, the Original Schuberger. I started coming back in 1996, and it quickly became a staple. Still great burgers and still cold beer! Thanks, Schuberg’s!

The Irishman at Schuberg’s is a bold, messy, and delicious burger. The corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, and thousand island pack big flavor, and the patty stays juicy underneath it all. It’s not a light choice and can get a little sloppy, but if you like loaded burgers with character, it’s one of their best.

Our bartender, Kate, is so friendly and great at her job. Kate is atentive and seems like she really loves what she does and also enjoys her customers. The atmosphere here is old time, wood floor, rustic. We will definitely be back.

This place is wonderful. It has that small town Cheers vibe. The staff come with that classic Michigan personality, friendly but not to be trifled with tone. The burgers is where it’s at though, great variety with a different spin on the typical burger to satisfy any appetite.

Great place to grab lunch. I don’t do chicken often, but I’m glad I did this day! The Chicken Cordon Bleu was awesome. Best I’ve ever had. The sweet potato fries were thin cut and absolutely amazing.
My wife enjoyed the chicken pesto sandwich with sweet potato fries as well.
I recommend getting there before 11:30 am or you might be in for a wait, not because of the service because the servers were on point. The sheer number of patrons speaks volumes to this establishment’s popularity.

The staff is fine, as long as you get a burger you’re good. The chicken sandwiches are consistently rubbery. I was dumb enough to try it on 3 occasions. I even mentioned it to them.. just to give them a heads up. I think it’s just the process..idk if it’s pre packaged.. and then grilled or microwave or what.. but it tastes like the pie cooked samsclub breasts that you can heat up and then are difficult to get right. Just get a burger and fries.. culvers is overall better and cheaper at 11$ burger and chips.. fries are a I think 3$ upgrade here.. but this is local and they do serve drinks . No deserts at all which is slightly bizarre.. not even a cookie.. nice vintage local tavern feel if that’s your thing. The burger is pretty good and grilled that I won’t deny.. so do give it a try.!

OMG definitely recommend this place for great food and drinks. Very friendly workers and an all around great atmosphere. I had a salad with steak could NOT believe the size more for like 2 people. Bf had the cod with fries he said was really good. Please check this place out if you in the Big Rapids area or just somewhere to drive an hour from grandrapids to eat.
