The historic 1918 building that was once Lebanon High school and then Lebanon Middle School is now Lebanon’s COMMUNITY ARTS CENTRE with its very own coffee house concessions and box office! School Grounds Coffee is a nonprofit subsidiary of Kentucky Classic Arts at Centre Square that also serves as gallery space for local artists that rotate monthly. ALL PROCEEDS SUPPORT NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY ARTS. Join us for coffee, muffins, lunch, meetings or snacks in the afternoon with all the kids that walk down or get off the bus after school to come study theatre, dance, music and various art forms. Check out our community shows at Kentucky Classic Arts at Centre Square.

I came here looking for a good lunch spot and with recommended from co-workers, I got the Smoked Pimento Cheese Sandwich, which came with potato chips and a baby dill pickle. I also ordered a matcha latte, which had a marshmallow flavor to it, which I found different but enjoyable. Service was quick and good. They had a soup of the day as well, but I opted for the Pimento cheese sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good lunch spot in the Lebanon area, particularly if your looking for a lighter lunch/classic American lunch.

A very stylish and cozy café! The atmosphere is chic and welcoming, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks taste absolutely delicious. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again.

The entire old school building has been transformed. The school auditorium is used for plays and concerts and the coffee shop functions to support the facility. Lots of seating throughout. Great cup of coffee and lots of holiday options. Too bad I don’t get in that neighborhood often because I would certainly come back.

Great coffee shop. Very good coffee and specialty drinks. The people who make and serve the coffee and the food are so sweet and friendly. They accommodate special orders easily.
I usually get my stuff to go but there are comfortable places in the shop to chill or get work done.
It is inside an old high school that is now an arts center. They have the old graduating class pics hanging up in the halls. Just a neat vibe to it all. And the name “School Grounds” is perfect.

This was such a unique place! The staff were so friendly— they knew just about everyone that came in! They were also able to provide good food and drink recommendations. I had an iced coffee and a sandwich and both were delicious. The interior was styled very nicely and I was able to find a comfortable spot to get some work done for a few hours. This spot definitely has the comforts and charisma often present in small town dining with quality food to boot.
