Came here to celebrate a birthday and was disappointed with the food and the wait time to get our food. There were 3 of us; 2 ordered Fehttuchini and I ordered chicken. Simple. It took about 45 min. To get food. Dining area was about half full, but there was a huge birthday party in the patio. Not sure if this was the reason for the delay. Food was mediocre, chicken was too salty and a little dry. The fettuccini was not a hit with the 2 others as they noted “too salty”. The shrimp was included on the dish and it was “small” and not “enough”.
We each had 1 drink … glass of wine and 2 pomegranate margaritas. When it was time to get the bill, I told the server we had a birthday girl at the table, thinking we’d get 1 scoop of ice cream as a compliment like some establishments do. Server came back with a dessert menu instead, so we opted for a $15 dessert instead.

Our second visit to the Schoolhouse. The first was Mother’s Day and that was great. Returned for my wife’s birthday and and another great experience. She had the duck special and I had the crusted pork loin. Both were delicious, the service was excellent, and the bread pudding desert… Well I gained some lbs. Highly recommend!

Loved the dining experience and food here! We were on a weekend trip to Sequoia and our host recommended this restaurant. I was almost more excited to try the food than see the National Park haha. It did not disappoint. The portion sizes were perfect, we liked the pacing of the courses, our servers were very friendly and welcoming, and the food itself was tasty and good quality. We especially enjoyed the fig ice cream with the lemon olive oil cake!

This was by far the best food and atmosphere anyone could ask for on our wedding anniversary. The staff greated us with an anniversary card and well wishes. Our server, Mike, was exceptional and offering specials. The whole staff was amazing. However, the food…so delicious. Thank you School House for the wonderful celebration.

Wowza ! This Wagyu Burger is a tasty, well‑crafted dish with rich, flavorful seasoning that 1/2 the burger will leave you satisfied and full. Dining in the old school house added a unique experience with nostalgic charm that complemented the meal perfectly. The meal was made even better by an enjoyable conversation with the Head Chef, General Manager, and Servers, turning the dining experience into something memorable. If you’re looking for a delicious burger with a creative presentation and good service give it a try you’ll enjoy the flavor and the overall atmosphere … it adds to your meal. Ooooooh!!!! and the music was totally vibing’

Cool venue that is very clean and open. Welcoming staff and attentive service. It is pricey and children menu was not a hit with the kids. We had a large party but seems better suited for smaller groups or couples. Food was good, presented well, but nothing memorable. Bar drinks are great and creative and nice selection of quality California wines.

My wife and I chose Schoolhouse Restaurant and Tavern for our anniversary, and it was the perfect choice. The old-schoolhouse ambiance is charming and adds a unique, nostalgic touch to the dining experience. We ordered the short rib, and it was outstanding – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made the evening feel special. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a memorable meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for exceptional food in a setting full of character and history.
