The tiniest restaurant you can imagine. Very popular during lunch time. It has got a hipster vibe. The staff is very friendly and the curries they serve are heavenly. They always have at least one meaty and one vegan option. The price is a tad higher and it differs depending on whether you eat in or take away. Cards accepted.

Incredible, incredible, incredible Thai curry. The flavors are spot on—you can literally feel the sweat forming on your temples from the Thai chilis. It’s quite pricey at around 15 euros for the daily main dishes, but if you dine in, you can request refills for both rice and curry. Truly incredible—I can’t say it enough. Even just being there is an experience. The place is small, tucked away from the busy streets. It reminds me so much of Asia.

I’ve been to Thailand a few times, I love spicy Thai food, and I think it’s fair to say this place is absolutely nailing it. I just walked by and picked up a red curry and papaya salad. I didn’t ask for the food to be spicy since I was curious whether they’re truly living up to their name (schönscharf = nicely spicy). Yes, they do. Both dishes were indeed spicy without overpowering the flavours, absolutely fantastic!!

A hidden gem in Vienna. A small place which mostly caters to take aways. So be prepared to get disappointed if your looking for a fine dine experience. Being discoverers of local flavours, we went looking for this place and were very happy we did. The food was simply mind blowing. The hint of spice makes you feel afraid of it but after a few bites gets better and better. This has to be one of the best Thai cuisine prepared by non Thai individuals.

Schönscharf serves exclusively lunch with a weekly changing Thai menu. I tried the pork Khua Kling which was delicious and spicy in the best way. They usually have at least one vegetarian option on the menu. Card payment accepted. Takeaway is the priority at this shop, there are only 2-3 bar seats inside for eat-in orders.
