A great little corner deli with a very warm atmosphere. It’s a very small spot, and everybody who worked there was very friendly and the food was good. I got the deli hot dog which tasted great and was very filling with all of the toppings. I would definitely stop in again if I was nearby. Perfect to just grab a little lunch.

Wowsers!! Schneider Deli HITS!! It’s a must when in downtown Chicago! It shares its location with the Ohio House Motel right on Ohio and Lasalle. Very small inside with a few tables that are always full. They do also have countertop seating. Well worth waiting to get a seat and eat some phenomenal Pastrami! | ordered the 1/4 pound pastrami sandwich on rye with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut with a slice of Swiss cheese and homemade pickle spares and amazing homemade thousand Island spread for the sandwich. I knew the sandwich was going to be amazing before my first bite! The rye bread was toasted perfectly and buttery, the pastrami came out popping hot! The meat was very tender and had a good mix of fatty and lean pieces.
Balanced out the sandwich really well. The mustard on the table is fantastic and adds so much to the sandwich. I so regret not getting the half pound sandwich!! They have a pretty decent menu for such a small establishment. I can’t wait to go again. 100% recommend!

I moved nearby and am a huge mannys corned beef fan. I’ve decided to give the place a try. Service is great and they are friendly.
Portion size is ridiculous. I did get a quarter pound which I’m willing to bet was under. Cole slaw tasted horrible.
Now the meat was delicious, honestly probably even better than Mannys. I’ll do 1/2 pound next time. Latke is OK. I’ve had better potatoe pancakes.
This could easily be a 5 star place if they weren’t so cheap.
I may try them again.

Exactly what I needed to honor my dad’s memory. He loved a good corned beef sandwich from a Jewish deli. This place didn’t disappoint. And I can see his old office building from the front door. Staff is no-nonsense and friendly. Like Chicago.

I’ve only had a few other bagels in the city, but they’ve all been rock hard within minutes. This was perfect. Crunchy outside/soft inside. I got the gravlax with the giardiniera spread and it was perfect. Nice little kick, but not overpowering. Def worth a try. Can’t wait to come back and try a sandwich next time!

One word – Outstanding.
Food here is high quality and never disappoints. You can’t go wrong with any selection but my favorites are the Brisket Sandwich, Mushroom Melt (add pastrami) and Bagel with Gravlax.
They also a lot of monthly specials and this November’s did not disappoint. The Thanksgiving Special is one of my favorites.

Overall a great restaurant! It has a very cozy coffee shop vibe. The food came when it was ready rather than all together. The food was good. Would highly recommend.

As somebody who loves pastrami and grew up in New York, I have a very high bar For what good is. And I can tell you that Schneider’s delivered. I liked the thick cut pastrami and overall just really enjoyed the sandwich. I also had the matzoh ball soup, which I thought needed a little more flavor to it. All that being said, the owners are really nice. People and the food is very good and I’m excited for their second location. I’m definitely a repeated customer

Great deli and a the atmosphere is like a walk back in time. Small and cozy with great tasting food. Had the Pastrami delicious but cut a little too thick for the way I like it. Bagel and whitefish salad was EXCELLENT and highly recommend.

Got the soup and sandwich lunch special. Matzo ball was decent. Sandwich was small. Pastrami was a bit dry but added extra mustard so it saved it.
