My friend had their BBQ Pork Sandwich (sauce on the side)with the sweet potato fries. I had a taste of her fries…I must say they were actually pretty good. Very surprised that was my 1st time trying them. I always wanted to try them but I never got up the nerve to order them for myself, so I am glad I try one of hers. I had their version of the Philly Steak sandwich (usually it’s served with marinara sauce……ugh why?) I asked for them to hold the marinara and give me some Blue Cheese dressing (so I could dip my fries). The fries were very tasty I might not have actually needed the blue cheese dressing. My sandwich was pretty big and the steak was seasoned well (I personally am from Wisconsin so I would’ve loved more cheese), I ended up taking most of it home. I ate all the fries because reheating doesn’t do fries for me.
What I didn’t care for was how loud the music was. I like to actually hear the person sitting across the table from me. Just turn it down a notch or two.
Otherwise it’s a great place to enjoy a sandwich and maybe even watch a ball game.
Thanks to Lindsay, our server, she was very helpful and actually came down to our level to talk with us(which made it easier to hear her).

Can’t speak to the other reviews. Staff are friendly, food is excellent, service was quick. We have been trying to find great fish frys around the area, and this is one of the best. The pieces are thick, soft but don’t crumble apart and the tartar sauce has a great homemade flavor you don’t find in a lot of places. Potato pancakes are THE best we have come across. Seasoned perfect with that onion/chive taste but eat like a great hashbrown. Colesaw was a light white dressing with a lemon/vinegary taste.
Well worth the visit. We look forward to coming back other nights to try the rest of their menu.

Baked Cod was good. Big serving, moist and seasoned well. Coleslaw is sweeter and ok, potato pancakes were very soft but seasoned well. Had a long wait after ordering, restaurant was busy but still took a while. Steamed veggies were the highlight of the dish!

Our original destination told us they wouldn’t be busy, when we got there as a large group of 13 they had no space. We came to Schmidtys and they were also busy but had a large group that might be leaving soon. We did wait 40 mins, they had a table set for us in the back. Our waitress Amy was amazing, humorous and perfect for our large group. She did a great job keeping up with the drinks and the orders. Many of our group said the fish was amazing. We will happily return when in town.

We love schmidtys! It is our new local place. We come in for sporting games (mostly packer games for their spin the wheel) but have also come for birthdays and friday nights! We recently learned that Thursdays is music bingo (free to play) with a great wing special. the wings are actually good too! would recommend the cookie skillet for dessert as well.

The food was phenomenal. I had the cod fish fry with potato pancakes. For the surprise surprise. I was offered applesauce and syrup as a dip for what’s basically hashbrowns with a Midwest twist. 10 of 10 would recommend again. The bartender Tim “Tiny” was out of this world with attentiveness and just generally funny and fast. He’s what brought me here as a customer and his recommendations and service will bring me back again.

Party of 4 had the beer battered fish fry which was very good. Only complaint was the fish pieces were rather small. One piece of the 3 PCs was about 1/2 the size of the other two which were already small. I now see why they offer a 5 PC on their menu which is probably equal to a traditional 3 PC elsewhere. Excellent coleslaw, (bread was dried out), service was fast. Unfortunately, the dining room was quite cold and drafty. Everyone was eating with their coats on and talking how cold it was, esp the chairs. Overall, a good meal but might wait for warmer weather to return.

$20 for a fish fry just doesn’t go as far as it used to. Brought my kiddo – who was delivered the wrong food. At this point, I’m just hungry & disappointed.
