Courtney is excellent. Friendly, prompt. Prices are good. The food takes a long time to arrive. The potatoes are overdone. Rye toast was barely toasted. Could use some cleaning. Silverware is mismatched and my fork was thin and uncomfortable to use. Not Kosher but Jewish, so no pork bacon. The owner needs to come in once in awhile and operate it. Unfortunately this was a one and done.

I cannot believe all these years and I never knew about this great Jewish deli and restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. It’s a combination restaurant and deli. Conveniently located on locust right at the 15 th and locust Patco speedline. Great service and atmosphere. Great food. Try the pastrami Reuben!

Great Jewish Deli! Downtown Philly. We had all the things and none of them disappointed. Chicken fingers & fries for the little one. Everyone dipped in on her fries. Reuben with coleslaw, lox & bagel platter and corned beef hash with 2 eggs. We’ll be back.

This was my wife’s and my first time at Schlesinger’s, and we were blown away. The service was truly outstanding, warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The food was incredibly flavorful, and the portions were more than generous, especially considering the price. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance of comfortable and spacious, making it easy to relax and enjoy the experience.

Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to recommend this place too enthusiastically, because this hidden diamond deserves to stay the way it is. But it’s too good not to share. Highly recommended.

For context we ordered the (Jules Corned Beef Sandwich, Latkes, Blintz, a Linecky Kolac.)

Pre Slovakov, ak tuzite po chuti domova, pridte sem ani babka by sa tomu nevyrovnala.

Love this place! Such a Philly gem. Authentic vibe, get yourself a window seat if possible to watch the action on Locust as you enjoy your lunch. I particularly like the Schlessinger’s special though there are a variety of options. Great place for solo or conversation. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Check it out. Prices are very fair as well.

This is a great restaurant. It’s located near Rittenhouse Square.
The ambience is authentic, it is beautifully decorated. With plenty of street facing windows. Which is cool because in Philadelphia when you are eating it’s fun to people-watch.
The environment is very relaxed. And quite lovely.

The food is amazing. They have a great menu.
We stopped for coffee, tea and a couple of bagels. I had the “everything” bagel with cream cheese and black coffee. Denise had a “sesame” bagel with butter and a delicious cup of breakfast tea.

The service is outstanding. Our Server was “Chris” and he is personable and professional and animated and friendly. It’s customer service like this that brings people back.

It’s a family and friendly environment and it is very enjoyable.

I highly recommend Schlesinger’s restaurant.

Our visit here turned out to be a stroke of luck because we managed to avoid the usual rush. The waitress attending to us was incredibly kind, making our visit all the more delightful by offering us complimentary coffee.

Our order consisted of the Lorraine’s cheese omelette with an addition of turkey bacon and the Smokey, opting for the turkey bacon on the side. While both dishes were satisfying, the Smokey stole the show.

I would recommend this spot for a breakfast outing, but food could still be better.

The service was fast, but they got slammed and only had 1 person working as a server and a cashier so people we waiting. The food was good, servings were big, price was right for the food you got.

It’s a fine Jewish Style Deli, but it doesn’t have the old-school smell of a working diner. They don’t make anything on premise.
Where is the aroma of grease & garlic? Why can’t I smell the hot corned beef? Oh… because it comes from a truck.
Oh well.
That all said, it was a warm graduation weekend in Philly, and the doorman at the Warwick offered us three places to dine, we chose Schlesingers.
The server was a 3 year pro. the longest is the store. The chocolate egg cream rivaled any NY diner, the Ruben was on point as well.
It won’t replace Katz’s, but it’s worth a meal or two.

I got their 18$ specialty sandwich which was nothing special unless you count stale rye as special…
The menu clearly stated a choice of side with the sandwich but the staff refused to honor it (unless a supplement was charged) : it’s a 20$ sandwich, you can throw a bag of chips.
