Review of Schaller’s Restaurant (Brighton NY location):

So, what happended to Schaller’s??? My recent visit to Schaller’s Restaurant in Brighton left much to be desired. The counter service was responsive and pleasant, and the overall cleanliness of the establishment was noteworthy. However, the experience was marred by several issues.

The cheeseburger on a hard roll was a disappointment. It oozed excessive grease, mainly from the hot sauce, and the thin patty failed to meet expectations. The accompanying fried onion rings were overfried and too crisp. The overall quality of the food did not live up to the standards set by the original location on Edgemere Drive near Lake Ontario.

Beyond the culinary aspects, the restaurant’s ambiance fell short. The music playing was annoying, and the overall physical environment lacked aesthetic appeal for individuals, couples, or families. Additionally, prices have become exorbitant, making it difficult to justify a return visit.

Comparatively, cooking a hamburger and fries at home proves to be both cheaper and more flavorful. Sadly, Schaller’s Restaurant in Brighton does not measure up to its history and quality of its original location, and I won’t be revisiting.

I hate to write a bad review about Schaller’s since I’ve been a patron for 20+ years, but the food was so bad a couple of days ago that I had to say something.

Semi-raw fries swimming in a full inch of liquid at the bottom of our garbage plates.

MANAGEMENT: Please oversee the food you are putting out. We have many options where we get our plates. I’m not one to ask for my money back, so $33 (with two cokes) is down the drain, but you may have lost a customer for life.

Sad and disappointed with the demise of a legend.

Best onion rings around! These were huge and fried perfectly – delicious! Burgers on a hard roll were great also. Always like getting the side of pickles, too! Staff was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend Schaller’s.

Honestly, the world’s best hot dogs & hamburgers, not to mention Schaller’s Plate! The hot sauce is unlike any you have ever tried, do yourself a favor and order extra, you’ll thank me. If you have never eaten here, then you must try it, I promise you, you will go back again and again. If you have eaten here before, then you know how amazing it is!

They got really good garbage plates. I had the hot dog with chilli and cheese on top and that was really good. We only paid around 10 for two people and their portions are very reasonable. If you don’t eat carbs, they have non carb options too.

WOW! Just what I needed with a massive hangover while in Rochester 🙂 The burger was fresh and made to order. My only reason for not giving 5-stars is the fries needed a little love… no seasoning. Onion rings were better IMO!

Very clean. Food was pretty good. Got the plate and a burger. My kids liked the burgers and so did I. Washrooms surprisingly very clean. Plate was a bit weird. Kinda like a weird poutine

I love Schaller’s. It is a must visit for me every time I’m in Rochester. Hard toll, hot sauce (like a Texas chili all meat no beans) cheese burger. Change your life!

Moved from Rochester to Charlotte NC 6 years ago and this is my first plate from Schaller’s since moving and it was more amazing than I ever remember. If you’re in Rochester make a note to stop here and indulge in a plate. You will not regret it.
