My daughter-in-laws surprise 30th birthday party. We had a good time celebrating. The restaurant was accommodating and staff were friendly. The food is really good. My only complaint and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is our group had 2 different servers and they weren’t in sync at all. The majority of the group received the meals before some of us had even ordered. This also led to some having to leave to get home for the kids, before the cake was served. Otherwise it was a great evening with family and friends.

We loved it! We sat outside and had a great view of the bridge and canal. The food, atmosphere, and service were all great. I had the C&D Jambalaya. It was really delicious. However, I would advise not getting it when it’s hot outside because it is spicey! I loved it, but sweated the entire time. The cold beer helped. We also had the peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and it was really great. We all at a great time there and got a beautiful sunset to add to our experience. Mine meal was a little pricey, but well worth it. Parking can be a challenge.

Visited this place on Aug3 2023 for dinner with three other guests. Atmosphere is good as it’s by the river and scenic and that’s what you are paying for . This was a second chance we were giving this place having been there for breakfast last six months and were very disappointed with their food. I ordered a seafood Poboy and I took pictures of the sad dish that arrived at the table with lettuce that no restaurant should ever serve and to make matters worse I found hair in the food too so at that point I stopped eating and drew this to the attention of the waitress. Food for two of my party guests was cold and the only dish that was edible was the Cassedea that was ordered by our fourth guest. Following two bad experiences I am afraid we will not be returning here and the least that should have happened was that the restaurant should have apologized and taken remedial action and assured us of their intentions. We have successfully run highly successful business including a restaurant in New Jersey and to be honest we would never have let any food go out of the kitchen as you’ll see in the pictures I am posting . This is simply negligence and disgraceful. Even the waiting staff should have questioned it because when I pointed it out to her she agreed that the food should never have been let out of the kitchen . We paid in full and left never to return again to throw money down the drain like this and leave hungry. Would you eat this lettuce and the rest of the food when you see the hair in there!

It’s a bit of a wait but typical for the Schaefers Canal House located on the C&D canal. On a busy Saturday evening our server “Ryan” was awesome…went the extra mile to get our order and drinks in so we did not go hungry or thirsty very long. I ordered the Black and Blue burger, although this place has a large selection of seafood.

The lobster melt sandwich is literally amazing and I always order it every time I go. It comes with a side so I usually pick caesar salad which is also amazing.
