We stopped here on our way West. Food was excellent! My hubs took 1/2 the burrito to go, my biscuit and gravy was great with a perfectly over easy egg! We were surprised with a gift from the cook of a scrumptious brownie! Modest, humble cafe that is very very clean! Which is why 5 for atmosphere!!! Highly recommend ♥️

Showed up at 8:30 in the morning and only a couple other people in the Cafe. Everything on the menu was priced reasonably. Had the ultimate breakfast sandwich and it was loaded and delicious. The atmosphere in here is different and it is pretty cool.

Good traditional breakfast- order at the counter and sit anywhere in the eclectic dining area! We sampled bacon, eggs, hash browns and pancakes and we enjoyed it all! They even graciously and easily accommodated our substitution requests. Could have used a bit less oil but overall very happy! (Ate most everything before I thought to take a photo)

Let me tell you the real deal.
It’s quaint. Don’t expect Denny’s or ihop. Imagine you are going to your country farm diner. Amazingly good. It’s Clean and don’t walk out because wanted some run of the mill big city dining experience. Everything on our plate was delicious down home southern kinda cooking. We had the sausage and egg sandwich, Hashbrowns, oj, eggs, and the best part: the best biscuits and gravy you’ll ever eat (at least on this coast!)

Delicious food! My fries were slightly undercooked for my taste could’ve used another 15 seconds or so…but I’m a total fry snob…so…seriously though really great food & the ladies inside were polite & friendly! Only disappointment was that I wasn’t here for breakfast for the Chicken Fried Steak!! It’s a total hole in the wall…as a trucker that’s where you find the very best food! Mom n Pop diners, drive-ins & dives!!

I like the Scalehouse Cafe. Friendly folk, interesting decor, a bit quirky (You have to order at the counter, a fact we were not aware of til other diners advised us. We waited at our table for 10 minutes to everyone’s amusement.) My wife and I had hearty, delicious breakfasts here, and at very reasonable prices. Will be back.
