Referred by a dear friend who shares my love for fresh, flavorful and fiery sauces to this little red food truck home of @sazonmexa.maui open 4-11pm, closed Mondays.
It is nestled in the back parking lot where the @paubakeryshop (home of the Argentinian Balcarce) and this Mexa cuisine is worthy of its own restaurant (hey, space for lease right in building.)
So far I’ve tried the chicken quesadilla with marinated tender chicken, jack cheese, onions and cilantro inside a large crispy grilled flour tortilla. The mild tomatillo sauce and fiery red chill sauce are fresh! It came with flour tortilla chips made to order. Portion a plenty!
Another time I tried the asada Mulitas at Miguel’s recommendation and the corn tortillas are handmade! Wowza. The steak was marinated until tender and cut into chunks not thin strips and lightly topped with jack cheese and dotted with guacamole crema. I got two but one is sufficient. Still I stuffed my face with every last bite combining the two sauces and squeezing all three limes wedges as I went. My face and hands were a mess!

Highly recommend the pork tacos and the birria bowl. The bowl was unique, never had it before. Pork tacos amazing. Skip the fancy tourist restaurants and come here one day, you won’t regret it. Also right across from a beach park and you can always relocate there. Super friendly as well. I’ll be thinking of this meal periodically after we leave the island, the rest of the meals I’ve already forgotten.

Right off the bat, in just going to say this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in my life. Ordered a simple bean and cheese burrito, and it was amazing. Additionally, the chips are just heavenly, I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful they taste. The staff are also very friendly and we did not have to wait long for food. Overall, if you are in the area, you must try this food. I would go here everyday if I did not love 2500 miles away.

This place is amazing!!!! The food is very flavorful. It’s made to order and is so fresh! It feels very clean which is nice to have while on vacation. The staff is so kind and orders are filled promptly. You will not be disappointed. We tried the tacos, burritos, quesadilla, and rice and beans. We returned a couple times. We were very active and ventured out during our vacation. Did many 7 mile + hikes and these meals fueled us well! Go try it, the food is amazing!

The best burrito and tacos in the area. Authentic and absolutely delicious, they got killer tomatillo sauce and house made spicy sauce for free. EXCELLENT food and friendly service. Homies are crushing it in the kitchen. Open till 11pm for the late night munchies, you can call and pick up your food or eat there under the stars. 100% recommend it!

Just ate some Al pastor tacos and they were literally salt tacos. I could not finish the 3rd my tongue was burning from all the salt. My suggestion is for them to taste the seasoning before serving to clients. This was dangerously salty and I’m not exaggerating. I finish eating 10 minutes ago and my tongue still feels burning from the salt. And is not from spicy I’m Mexican and I can handle my salsa.

I have had tacos all over the world and have eaten at most of the best in California. These were dam good tacos. The best on Maui for sure. Not cheep. But nothing here is and they were definitely worth it. The ingredients were top notch.
