Originally from Mexico City, Chef Fernando Olea has been enthralling diners in Santa Fe since 1991 with his unique interpretation of contemporary and traditional Mexican dishes. Chef Olea creates sophisticated flavors using Old Mexico’s indigenous and culinary traditions alongside ingredients from around the world. His menu is deliberately small, featuring fresh and locally sourced produce and meats when possible.
Elevated Latin American cuisine & specialty cocktails served in a dimly lit, Mexican-themed space.

Incredible meal as always, we had the squash flower blossoms, octopus, Suzanna mix salad with shrimp. Frito Black Bean soup and the duck with hot red and peanut mole. We had a mezcal based cocktail that pushed it all over the top. Tres leches dessert is incredible. Thank you again for the wonderful experience, highly recommend

Beautiful restaurant. The artwork and setting are a calm cozy vibe. The service was outstanding.
The molé sampler was fantastic and sparked conversation at the table about the different flavors. The Cameron-tini was not good at all. Overcooked shrimp with undercooked batter and a mayo based sauce. The pork tenderloin was cooked perfectly and the mole verde was fantastic. The duck overpowered any sauce and felt separate from the dish. We had the signature desert and loved all the flavors and textures.

An unforgettable dining experience from beginning to end. The service was flawless, with an attentive team and an elegant atmosphere that elevated the entire evening.
The duck with mole was exceptional, perfectly cooked and beautifully layered with rich, complex flavors that made each bite memorable. My cocktail was equally impressive, refined and flawlessly balanced. And just when I thought the night couldn’t get better, dessert arrived: an avocado ice cream that was simply unbelievable unique, sophisticated, and a stunning finale.
This restaurant offers more than remarkable cuisine; it delivers a refined culinary experience that feels truly worthy of a Michelin star. Absolutely unforgettable

I really wanted to enjoy this experience more than I did. The food felt overly experimental and not always cohesive with the Mexican theme of the restaurant. At times I wondered if my main dish, the shrimp enchilada, was more Italian than Mexican? The presentation of the food was good but not as refined as the atmosphere would lead you to believe. The service was….interesting. On one hand I am truly blown away by the care and attention the staff and owner took in making sure I had something gluten free. For that I am very thankful! However…the service at times became so overboard it was cringey. Wait times for food were incredibly long. What took the cake was having my dessert, the chefs special, narrated moment by moment as I ate it. To say this dessert was disappointing would be an understatement. It appeared to be a hard block of ice cream with different sugary sauces over the top…one being a mixture of still granulated sugar. The taste of which was certainly not enhanced by the server’s description bite by bite of what I should be experiencing.
I did however enjoy the starter plate of different mole and tortillas. The prickly pear NA drink was delicious!
In the end I walked away from what became a 2 hour long meal, incredibly confused.

From the cocktails to the appetizers, the entrees to the desserts, everything was top notch. Waitress Eileen was bubbly and helped us make suitable choices to our palates and dietary needs. Chef Fernando circled the room several times making sure our each course was perfect. This is a 5 star, NOT to be missed experience. The house special soup is a treat, but truly, tou cannot go wrong with the entire menu. Bravo, chef Fernando!

Let me start off by sharing that I’m not a fancy guy. That may discredit my review for most readers, but it’s a lens that’s necessary for context.
The food was pretty awesome, everyone I went with enjoyed most of what they got.
The staff was also friendly and kind and super attentive.
But why the three stars?
Prices were too high, but even that was totally fine at the end of the day.
But the weird part, at least with a big party, is how the set down and pick up your plates.
Suddenly the wait staff surrounds your table. They all pause, not saying anything, but standing right behind you. They all nod and silently count so they can simultaneously put down or pick up your plates. If you have enough plates to merit a second go around they repeat the ritual again.
I get the idea of everyone receiving service at the same time. But is was jarring and honestly disrupted each and every conversation we were having at the table.
Food: 4/5
Staff: 5/5
Service: 2/5
Atmosphere: 3/5
By the way, the green sauce was money!!!!

Excellent experience overall. Researched this place ahead of time based on their James beard award. None of the food we ordered was spicy in our opinion (in case you’re worried) even though we were warned there would be some spicy dishes/sauces/mole’s. Everything we ordered was spectacular. Duck skin tacos (think duck chicharron) , shrimp enchilada, and the sopa de amor was outstanding. Passion fruit marg was great, also nice micheladas. Service was excellent, attentive, fun and friendly (thanks Chris). The vibe in there is so cool- great artwork covers all the walls. Cozy and warm. The chef/owner comes around to say hi to all the tables. Can’t wait to come back!

We walked in and luckily the hostess gave us what appeared to be the last table. We loved the unique atmosphere the walls have very unique paintings. Gabrielle was our waitress and gave us absolutely fantastic service. We ordered mocktails and they were brilliantly made – the food was all excellent. I ordered the duck breast in the mole negro and it arrived with this sweet potato purée that was out of this world. My wife ordered a pork loin in the spiciest mole which was tender – one minor ding is it felt like they went lite on that mole maybe they were worried we couldn’t handle the spice.
Overall fantastic experience and would highly recommend.

We planned to try the tasting menu but learned we got the wrong reservation. We were served by Nicholas, who happily obliged with his own curated tasting menu. He took into consideration our food preferences and we enjoyed a delicious 10-course meal that was within the same price range as the tasting menu. Nicholas has excellent taste. He and the staff were professional and attentive, and described each dish with admiration and pride. We loved our experience here and wanted to give Nicholas a well-deserved shoutout!

Maybe the best dinner experience of my life. I have never witnessed the dance of plating and clearing quite like these masters in their field. The course were out of this world. Whatever your waiter recommends, do it. The vibe is everyone is so proud to be there and know they are serving food worthy of our praise and appreciation. It was a treat to get to dine in such a special place.
